Backup camera options?

Overall I'm loving my Renegade so far, but one of the things I wish I could love a little more is the backup camera. I guess I've gotten used to our old CRV's camera with guidelines, and also my wife's current Encore has great backup guidelines that even shift automatically to help give you a better indication of where you are/where you're going.

Does the Renegade's backup camera have options somewhere that you can enable this? I guess I didn't realize how helpful those guys were in tight/weird spaces until I no longer had them...

I was able to turn on the guidelines on the back-up camera through the system access via the radio/entertainment system. I have the middle system with the two knobs and the touch screen. I think it was listed under something that wasn't completely obvious. I don't know if yours is the same or how many variations there are. I could turn on the back up guidelines but there is no proximity alert. Its very good at telling you exactly where the rear bumper is, but not as good as some at giving you an idea on side clearances. It does 'bend' while turning and the center line is pretty good.

That's right. You can turn on the lines in one of the "radio" menus.

Vehicles:
2015 Renegade Trailhawk - Silver (Glacier Metallic)
2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack
2014 H-D Road King
2009 Dodge Challenger R/T (traded)

I test drove one the other day and it did have the guiding lines and path detection.

An Around View system like on the Nissan Rogues would be nice.

Awesome find! I was wondering why some Cherokee's I'd driven had it but the Renegade didn't! Found it haha

I'm not sure why they ship the vehicles with lines off as the default mode. There are some unusual default mode selections in the base systems, as well as a menu system that doesn't scream intuitive.

I've had my Trailhawk for about 6 weeks, made deposit from cell phone pic from the wash bay after it came off the hauler. It's a blast to drive but I still consider myself a beta tester to some degree.

Awesome - thank you! I assumed that there had to be a way to turn it on but just haven't had the chance to play around with the radio options too much just yet. Looks like I owe it to myself to do so.

My car is in the shop but I was wondering the exact same thing! Was bummed they didn't have guide lines. I debated even taking a sharpie to the screen lol. My mom also drives a crv so I got used to them.

If you could update with exactly how to do it, that's help a bunch! Thanks man.

On the Fiat two knob touch screen infotainment system.
+/more button » options » press Down arrow » safety/assistance » parkview backup.
