Does anyone know if the TH is any different, i.e. does the tow hook locate in the same place? In the UK the TH doesn't have any red tow hooks on the front, just on the rear.

I hope that my Renegade never needs a tow. Keep us informed how this goes with Jeep.

Sorry to see this. I remember a discussion about the screw in tow hook and the question was never answered if it could be used for recovery. I guess the tow hook was stronger than the bumper. Good luck with the repair and please keep us posted.

It needs to be.

How the hell can a reasonably necessary recovery scenario result in a factory tow point pulling the whole damn bumper off the vehicle?

That's like having a factory approved 'jack point' bend an axle during a tire change.

Is the front bumper aluminum on all models? I've worked on (replaced) my rear TH bumper and it is steel, but I've not seen the front.

Not sure about the TH, but if you see silver in the front it is aluminum.

I took a close look at my 2015 Trailhawk this morning. No silver in sight. Looks to be all black painted steel (checked with a magnet). Recovery hooks connect to bumper and unibody "frame" directly, further rearward. It doesn't look like the same failure could happen on the Trailhawk.
