2017 Renegade Transmission Housing Cracked

I own since new, a 2017 Renegade, 2.4, 4WD, 9 Speed Trans with barely 19,000 miles on it. Today I took it to the dealer for an oil change and an front wheel alignment issue. Upon completion of that the service rep informed me they discovered a crack in the transmission housing. It was not leaking, but want me to bring the car back to drop trans to take a better look. The vehicle has been never been off the road and never had issues with hitting anything. anyone else? Thoughts?

A defective casting isn't unheard of.

Be happy they caught it while it is still under warranty (and actually said something about it).

Very Respectfully

Going fast is only half the fun... You get to build it first.

This, unless they fight you on a replacement, that's the sign you have a decent dealer and a good thing.

Given the stats, I'm going to go with manufacturing defect.
