Alright, yeah the oil indicator never came on when it was that low and was about a year old at the time. Its around the halfway mark right now. 790 miles after my recent oil change. Hope this car doesnt crap out due to the damage it may hve sustained when it was that low as i purchased the vehicle new and thus far its been more of a hassle then my previous cars have been. I want it to last 10 years but if its damaged might not i guess

approximately five minutes after a fully warmed engine is shut off, will improve the accuracy of the oil level readings. Maintain the oil level between the range markings on the dipstick. The safe range is indicated by a crosshatch zone. Adding 1 quart (0.9 Liters) of oil when the reading is at the low end of the indicated range will result in the oil level at the full end of the indicator range

after much research, this is what i found to be recommended. do your own way to check, i do.
