Angry Key stuck in ingnition problem

Hello. Has anyone dealt with JEEP corporate about the key getting stuck in the ignition problem? I have have found multiple posts online about this situation and no real answers. Any information would be of great help.

I've not really heard of a problem with stuck keys. If that Jeep is still under warranty, I'd recommend taking it to the dealer.

I've not seen this as being a problem. However, if the Jeep is still under warranty, maybe a dealer visit is needed.

I had this problem on my 2015 Latitude some time ago. From my post:

Have not had time to go to dealer yet but afraid it's going to be one of those situations where I take it in and it can't be replicated; meanwhile a day has been wasted with no resolution.

I took my 2015 Latitude in for this issue on Monday and They were able to replicate the issue. There is a service bulletin on this. As the service technician explained to me, there is some kind of transmission interlock connected with the key mechanism. To work properly, one needs to perform a specific brake pedal sequence as follows: With the vehicle gear shift in Park and the foot off the brake pedal, cycle the ignition key (key-on/key-off). Wait 0.5 seconds before attempting to remove the mechanical key from the ignition cylinder. Using this sequence should allow normal removal of key from the ignition cylinder. Mine also needed a software update (TSB #08-066-15 Rev A or newer). This update also puts a message on the instrument cluster which says " Before Key Off Release Brake Pedal". Seems to be working so far

Another tip. DO NOT leave 5 pounds of keys, key rings and other do-dads hanging from the ignition. Added stress on the ignition switch/cylinder. We've had cars in with worn out ignition lock cylinders, go to grab the keys for the car and they have 5 pounds of crap attached to it.
