31 mpg highway? LOL

I keep seeing advertisements for the 2016 saying it's going to get 31 mpg on the highway.

Has anyone's 2015 ever gotten that? Mine sure hasn't!

Driving very carefully on the highway at a constant 60 mph or so I can scrape 33 mpg with my 2.4L 4WD. However most of my driving is in stop and go traffic on my commute and my overall average is 19 mpg.

I took a trip from Oklahoma City to Denver and I think I averaged about 21 mpg. But that is uphill, against the wind, doing 70-75 mph.

I think in ideal conditions if you really focus on your mpg and turn off the cruise control you can beat the 31 mpg mark. You're just not going to maintain speed and will probably annoy everyone driving around you.

Yes, I can get well over 30 driving @ 55 mph on mostly flat roads. At 65 mph, I am closer to 28 or 29 mpg. And maybe 23 or 24 around town.

Overall with about 14 or 15 tanks of gas my average is around 27.5 (calculated).
