Shortly after buying it.

We had a Chevy Equinox many years ago. Had a flat in Baxter State Park in Maine. Thankfully I had a spare, if not, it could have been MANY hours before anyone could have got to us.

Wifes Fiat 500 didn't come with a spare either. About 1,000 miles on the car she hit a pot hole on the way home. Thankfully only about 1 mile from the house as it put a hole in the sidewall. The inflator kit isn't going to fix a cut in the sidewall. I had to wait a couple days to get a tire as no-one local had one. I picked up used (never been on the road) spare tire for it.

With that, and a few other flat situations, I bought the spare tire kit for the Renegade. Even if she can't install it, someone else could for her if I'm not around. Being AWD, I wouldn't even be able to tow it with my tow dolly. So, I look at it as an insurance policy. If you don't have it, you need it. If you have it, you don't need it.

Renegade Spare Tire Kit
The roadside safety kit for the Jeep Renegade includes a spare tire, wheel, jack and installation hardware. It's perfectly equipped with those essential tools for unexpected roadside emergencies.
Spare Tire Kit tire is 145/90R16.

Will work with all 2015-2019 Renegade models, regardless of the size of the wheels currently on your Jeep.
Item # 82214679AE (Replaces Item # 82214679AB, 82214679AC & 82214679AD) So what changes are made from B-E? just wondering.

My Latitude came with the spare tire kit, of which I am grateful. I strongly believe all cars should come with one although the current trend across all brands is to omit them to save money and weight. One of my other vehicles, a 2009 smart fortwo is the first vehicle I've owned that had no spare. That vehicle is so small there IS no place to carry a spare. I've been through 3 complete sets of tires for that vehicle and never had a flat. Never. Luck ? I don't know.

In my 2nd or 3rd month of ownership of my Latitude, one morning I walked out to find, you guessed it, a flat tire. I found a nail in the tread. Instead of putting the temporary spare on, I over-filled it with air and drove the 2 miles to a tire shop where they fixed it. But I'm glad I had a spare tire onboard. I'm toying with the idea of changing from a temporary full size tire to a permanent full size tire. If I'm gonna carry a spare, I want to be able to leave it on for weeks or months if I choose, not just to get me home.

Will I need it ? Doesn't matter. I have it.

Ours was an ex-demo and we insisted on a spare before we picked it up. Less than a week, around £300 including jack, wheel-brace etc. And we got to keep the sealant kit, so we got a very useful compressor as well.

I did not get the spare, around 25000 i was getting that nervous feeling since we were doing more driving on the weekends. I bought a used rim on Ebay and a $50.. tire mounted and balanced from Dobbs tire. I put it in the back with a small floor jack and a tire tool. I feel a lot better now when i am out of town.

I have an Audi TT that has the repair kit and am always nervous. I have roadside service, but still am old school and want a spare. I purchased one from BAM Wholesale parts.com. No tax, free shipping within 4 days. Took out the parts tray in the cargo area of my 2018 Latitude. Fits perfectly in the tire well. I kept the repair kit and put it and the jack that came with the spare tire kit along side and a small bag with tools, toe straps, etc next to the tire. Then I put the Jeep logoed panel on top. Put the cargo floor on the upper shelf guides and away I go. (can't put the parts tray back in with the spare, but I kept in the garage... don't know why????

Tire is a doughnut 145/90R16
