Anyone know where I can pick up some of these? They hold the tire flair trim on the frame. Not sure how they broke

☹☹☹ shipping from HK?? That's about a week and a half out. I'm going to the dealer this morning and hoping they have some.. Right fender is being held with a zip tie ? Perhaps I'll order a bag of these eventually.. I can't get around keeping those clips together. Even my boss who's done body work breaks them. Crap clips

Update on these fasteners:

I received these a while ago but didn't have time to work on my BU until today.

Pros: They are dirt cheap

Cons: They are difficult to work with

The photo of two fasteners in my hand are from China (left) and the other is factory (right). They are nearly identical. The only difference is the material they are made of.

The China ones are stiff as heck and the factory ones are a little bit more flimsy which they are supposed to so they slip into the holes.

The China ones won't slip into the holes, believe me, I tried and broke a few. I also tried using my heat gin to see if I could soften one up and slide it in but that didn't work either.

Good news, there is a fix. The second photo is a picture of a China one with half the tip cut off. It's the only way to get them to slide in without breaking it or anything else and since the plastic is so stiff it holds just fine once it's in.

Conclusion:

It may or may not be worth it to you to get these. I didn't mind modifying the clips and saving myself $37.

If you only broke 2 or 3 and don't want to wait for shipping from China, it'd be worth the $1/pc to get it from a dealership.

I got a pack of 10 since I didnt want to wait. I broke 8 of them. And factory ones slide in perfect, so FWIW spend a little more $ and get it done faster. I get a cheaper $ from my company acct, so 10$ was nothing.

Ebay was your first port of call. I commented on this a few months ago :p:p

Many topics such as the rear hatch trim removal commented upon it.

More to the point is your reason for posting such an introductory post to say hello. Hey I accept you are trying to help and I am sure everyone is appreciative of that nugget of information.

Do not go all offensive and aggressive just because I pointed out that your link to an old post was 3 1/2 years old.

You could have suggested something like:

Hi all, parts broke whilst removing my trim and I wondered what they were. I found these parts worked from Amazon.

As an introductory post I would be more supportive and appreciative of your assistance for telling us what the problem was and how you fixed it.

It's clear that you are upset but don't be. Make another post ;) ;)
