Please help reverse camera and aftermarket radio

So I've installed a JVC KW730BT double DIN unit with maestro RR idatalink. Everything worked great EXCEPT reverse camera does not work. I've been told it's because I have manual transmission. What's the best easiest option to get it to work as advertised? I've searched this forum and haven't found anything good. I don't mind splicing into an accessible wire but really don't want to run a wire from the rear tail light to the unit. Please help.

Fixed! Ended up running a wire to receiver and it works perfectly. Very happy with install.

What wire? Mine works, but I have to manually select the camera.

I would also love to know how you kept the backup camera working without wiring to the taillight. That alone is keeping me from preceding with the aftermarket head unit install.

I used a Maestro RR with the CH3x harness which makes everything work. Steering wheel, OBDII information, etc.

I don't think Maestro would mind if I post a screen capture from one of their instruction guides which gives you an idea of how it's connected to a head unit that has an idatalink port.

Thanks for the info. Did you have to do anything special to keep the center console usb working? Does it plug directly into the new receiver or into the Maestro? Any adapters?

You can get the dash mounted USB to work with a USB adapter. In the OP's post, thats what the Metra AX-USB-MINIB is for.

I installed a kenwood DMX905S and used a cheap-o Amazon USB Adapter and the dash console USB works fine for CarPlay.

The arm console USB adapter in my jeep is not connected to data or the radio, just power, so nothing to connect for that one.

that wire diagram is for the uconnect 3.0.... it uses the obd2 plug
the uconnect 5.0 and up don't need the obd2 plug connected as it's already transfering over the data cable
