Hello -Potential new renegade owner here, help required 🙂

Hey

I am in the process of looking to buy a ‘15 jeep renegade 1.5 longitude. I have read some absolute horror stories about renegades from this year. I’m still really drawn to it but don’t know if it’s a risk. I plan on keeping this car for a good 10 years and want to be sure about it’s reliability.

Thanks so much for any advice

2015 is the first year of the Renegade. I try to stay away from first year vehicles to give the manufacturer time to work out all the bugs. That being said, the USA does not have a 1.5, so I'm not sure about the particular engine reliability either. Most members here are in the USA, but maybe someone with a 1.5 can chime in.

Welcome!

There is no 1.5 I wouldn't bet on keeping a 4 year old car for another 10 years.
You don't know how previous owners have treated it. How often was it serviced? What type of mileage has it done?
Did it see a lot of offroad action?

If long term ownership is what you want I would stay away from Jeep. They have too much of a hit or miss quality to ensure longevity. Especially a used one. You don’t know how the car was used/abused if it was maintained well or not and warranty is nonexistent.
