Hello

Hi,

First time Jeep owner here. My last car was a Honda Element. She was a great car and served me well for thirteen years. I hope my Renegade will do the same.

Glad to be here with Jeep owners. I took my 2001 Wrangler TJ with 110 miles on it, into the shop for a new fuel pump. Put it on a hoist and found 3 places the frame was nearly rusted thru. Bolt sleeves for the transmission cover had dropped. Maybe could have welded some of the frame, but no longer felt safe driving it. Wanted something the same size but no longer doing off road. Three days later a proud owner of a new 2018 Renegade Latitude! But sure miss my Wrangler, a part of me for 18 years.

My wife has a 2016 Renegade latitude we liked this choice because great gas mileage and really surprised by handling in snow and ice. After 2 years the problems began. Been an absolute nightmare. In the shop every month and towed twice. Tires... shot after 20k. Fan and shroud assembly came totally apart, towed. Fog lights completely burned and melted in -20 below, interior always smells like burnt oil and coolant. Radio and dash goes black. Today she went to work and stalled on highway on ramp and took 5 minutes to restart. Bogged down at 30 mph. I went to her work and drove it, it stalled multiple times and sounded horrible. Parked it and checked dip stick, absolutely no oil in engine. No warning light ever came on. Checked her path to work for oil, none found. No oil in garage or driveway. I believe it has been running at least a day or more with little to no oil! Towed today and dealer believes engine shot.
