Thumbs down New Jeep New Headache 2017 start issue

Hello. New Jeep owner here. So I bought my new 2017 Jeep Renegade Latitude on June 9th. It had less then 100 miles on it. Got it home, next morning when i went to start it, it took a very long time to crank over and start. I shook it off as me learning how to use the push button start until i noticed a pattern, that every time the car sat for more then 3-4 hours, it would do this hard start thing. It will take a very long time to start or turn and turn and turn and then stall out. I took back to dealer. After a week of trials they replaced the fuel pump told me all was well and sent me home. The NEXT DAY it hard started again. Took back to the dealer after several days of early morning hard starts, and they insist they cannot replicate issue. I am instructed to come back to pick it up, and was thinking that i had fueled up so perhaps the new gas solved the issue? I get in my car to start it up AT THE DEALERSHIP and it hard starts. Of course no one was there to witness this, so i left it there again. I feel I bought a lemon. Its been at the shop more days then i have had it. Has anyone else had this issue? 2017 Jeep Renegade Latitude, 2.4L engine.

Thanks
Robin

Sorry for your problem you will have to leave your Jeep at the dealer till is dose it with them is the only way it sounds like it is going to get fixed.

Garage
What engine and what gas/fuel are you using? Have you tried gas from more than one gas station?

It sounds more like a battery issue to me. Or a bad starter that when it sits for awhile it sucks too much juice to start easy.

My wifeís 2017 w/1.4 turbo is perfect! Maybe too perfect.. I told her they should make a theme park ride of her driving!

Hi Robin,

We understand why this would be concerning. If you decide to get this looked at by the dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help.

Trade it in and cut your losses. It will not go away, and you are at the losing end.
Why do you think it is still in the lot for 2017? Something is not right.

You will loose a lot of money if you trade it in. Itís easy to say, but many times financially, hard to do.

Itís under warranty, they will work the bugs out.

Also, it might still be on the lot with less than 100 miles on it because someone bought, but their financing fell through. That happens all the time.

If you need to, take it to a different Jeep dealer to have fixed. You are not tied to the dealer you bought it from for service.

I find it sort of funny when you take it to a different dealer and pit the new dealer against the old dealer. The new dealer usually wants to try to show how much better their service dept. is.

If it's new, why eat it when lemon laws exist?

Also, we haven't seen a lot of people with weirds ignition system problems. We have seen spates of defective factory batteries.
