Radio shut on/off by itself and back up camera staying on.

I got in my 2017 Renegade today and noticed my radio screen had the Jeep logo on it. I tried to switch it to radio and nothing. The radio is on but it will automatically shut off for about 5 minutes and then turn back on but still no options to change screen. It did this for the entire 30 miles. Also when I backed up the camera came on and stayed on for about 5 minutes while I was driving and finally switched off but back to the Jeep screen. Very distracting! Can someone please help me?

We had this problem and went to the dealer thinking there might be updates; turns out the radio was bad and they replaced it for free- scheduled an appointment and it took about an hour for them and we were on our way. It has been four months and we haven't had an issue since.

Took to dealership on 4/28. Took them 2 hours to figure out the radio was bad, mind you I had an appointment. Stated they had to order the radio. I asked if I could upgrade the radio to include navigation and I would pay the difference. They stated that wasn't an option for my vehicle. Never heard of that. Si now its just a waiting game with Jacksonville CJD

If your broken radio has satellite then you can upgrade to navigation. They both use the same antenna

I have a radio issue as well with my 2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude, but a bit more strange than yours. My issue is when the temperature outside is very hot my screen does not display, but I am able to hear sounds and switch from the steering wheel. Not sure if any one has had this issue as well but I am extremely curious to know what may be the cause of this. Thanks.

Hello,

I appreciate a response but going to the dealer doesn't come without a price tag. I am surprised no one else has encounter this issue and it sounds more like I am dealing with something rare? It indicates you are a Jeep Social Care Specialist, so I assume you would know of some type of resolution for a problem like this, or maybe not? Thanks.

Hi see1986,
Since we are not trained technicians, we rely heavily on our dealers in the field to diagnose vehicle concerns. As a facet of the FCA Customer care team, my colleagues and I would be able to connect you with a case specialist via a case escalation. This case specialist would connect with you and your dealer and assist in finding a resolution to your concern. If you do decide to visit your dealer or have any further questions, we are always available via private message!

Similar radio issues here. Was doing fine, went into grocery store and when I came back out and started the Renegade there was no radio. The backup camera was working in reverse, when I shifted to drive the camera stayed on and still no radio. Kind of like the old computers and I have the blue screen of death, however I can see behind me up to about 30mph and then it shuts off. Tried and the camera will work any direction. I drive up to about 30mph and then it shuts off, stay under 30 and the camera stays on. Any ideas? Any replacements? I'd also like to upgrade to navigation, I do have satellite radio. 2016 Sport, out of factory warranty by 2800 miles.
