Anybody using the Android app?

I've used it a couple of times and it works fine, lets me use my Google Maps or Waze on the display, pretty cool stuff. But I was wondering if anybody else thought that the app took over a little too much, it's like you can use your phone or you can unplug it from the USB and use the Renegade's technology, but not both. Maybe I haven't gotten familiar enough with it to know exactly what I'm doing yet but thats the way it seems to me.

Also, does everybody else with a Latitude have 18'' tires? I just noticed on mine that it was 18'' and not 17'' like I originally thought.

While I can't comment much on the Android auto function, I also have 18 inch rims on my 2016 Lattitude.
Its an optional wheel available on Lattitude but standard on the Limited trim.

I like the 18's for their looks and since it's 99% used on roads. If I did more offroading the 17's would have been preferred for AT tire options.
There is an 18 inch AT tire offered by Toyo I believe. Seen on Tire Rack.

My 2018 Latitude Altitude has 18's and I LOOOVE them compared to the other sizes offered.

I have a HUGE question, how did you get your android to sync up with Uconnect? I can't figure it out at all and the owners manual says to press buttons my model doesn't even have! It sync'd up bluetooth no problem, but I majorly want to figure out how to get it to work with Google Maps. That is my biggest wish, to get it to show and display a map...any help?

I plugged my USB plug into the outlet on the dash, under the radio. Then I plugged in my android and as soon as I did, the app I needed to download appeared on my phone and I downloaded it. After that, it's all downhill, you can use your phone to control the car, basically. I used the touch screen to go to maps, and I had a choice of Google Maps or Waze, which I prefer.

Totally worked. I had it plugged into the cigarette style outlet because i have a dual port charger for my dash cam. Unplugged phone usb cable and put into direct port and everything popped up perfectly. Was exactly what I wanted! Thanks!

I noticed this is the case in another make of car, so it may be a limitation of Google maps or Bluetooth rather than the app or head unit.
