Question Add stock reversing camera to Limited?

I'm about to become the owner of a 2015 Limited, but it doesn't have the reversing camera fitted. I believe this was an optional extra as part of the "parking pack". Is the camera available at all?
Was it a factory option or something the dealer fitted?
If I found the right camera, and was able to wire it in, would the radio/satnav unit "just work" with it?
I'm hoping to get a bit of a clue as to if this is something I might be able to do myself, or if it's a dealer only thing, or if it's simple not possible once the original owner has spec'd out the car.
Thanks for any info

Mine hasn't got it. I think it's an option with one of the packs as the OP suggests, though it might be standard in some markets.

I think others have tried to do this and there is a thread somewhere about it.

Previously: 2017, 1.4 petrol, 6 speed auto, FWD, Limited, Omaha Orange ...

Now gone electric.

I'mfairly sure you can do this. There should be a spot on the rear of the uconnect 5/7 stereo for the OEM camera to plug in. once plugged in, I would think you would need a dealer to reflash the uconnect software so that it sees the new camera. after that it should work.

I think the first thing I'll do is have a look and see if the wiring is in place.
If it was a dealer fitted option I wouldn't imagine they'd have them pulling wires from front to back.
I did find some threads about reversing cameras, but only where people were fitting third party ones with separate screens.
Thanks 🙂

The first thing I actually did was to ask the local dealer. They said it's a factory fitted option and can't be done afterwards.
Which seems slightly odd, as I bet they could replace the wiring harness under warranty if it became faulty, and I bet they could replace the camera if that became faulty. But they can't take my money and do both those things outside of the warranty.

I've not checked for wires yet.

Hi, I have been looking to add a rear camera, these are the following ones that should fit but when I have contacted the sellers they say it wouldn't fit because they have not been tested! I can get the factory camera but not the cable, I have tried my local Jeep dealer, they say it can't be done. My uconnect should be a 6.5" / RA4

When I have contact them on several occasions someone say Yes them someone else says No

There must be someone out there that has fitted a camera to the existing uconnect! It would be nice to know which connector it would be.

If you have a solution please let me know, If the sellers were in the UK then I would buy it, at least I could send it back if it didn't fit.

Hi, After many hours of searching, I kust went to Halfords and bought this

https://www.halfords.com/technology/...ing-camera-kit

It took me 6.5 hours to fit as the Jeep is so well screwed together.
The new mirror fits nicely over the existing one and has auto dimming.
This has been hardwired in and I changed the original camera to this my friend thought the camera was the handle that opened the tailgate:-

https://catalog.echomaster.com/catal...-parking-lines

So the PCAM-150 fits where the factory camera should be.

this cost me a total of 95 for Rear view mirror and 70 for the camera, I sold the old rear camera for 22.50 so in the end it cost me 142.50

I would have replaced the 6.5 uconnect but couldn't find a double din that would replace all the functions as mines a Limited

If you need advice on how to fit just message me.
