They seem real small, though larger in appearance than the 500Ls I've been seeing the past couple of weeks. The Fiat looks very small.:-o

jumpcage It would be a nice job job indeed. I wonder what is on the list to test and what conditions.

Jeepers They must try to test the same model for some amount of time in order to make sure that it doesn't run into problems once its been driving around for a while. I wonder who has the job of getting to drive around yet unreleased vehicles all the time. Sounds like a pretty sick gig to me.

Wakeley Bridge I have passed that exact Renegade on two occasions. In late April I was on I-75 heading up to my cabin in Grayling, MI and I overtook that Renegade somewhere above Flint. It was driving in a mini convoy with a Fiat 500 that also had manufacturers plates. On 5/18 my wife and I were once again driving north on I-75 to our cabin and in almost the exact same stretch above Flint we overtook the first Renegade I'd seen earlier but this time it was accompanied by a second all black Renegade. I'm sure they were putting some hiway miles on them for "shakedown" runs.

Tiger Looks like a prototype to me as well, near where I used to live we'd see all sorts of shabby looking Land Rover / Range Rover models that were sort of thrown together to make sure the mechanical parts were reliable

tony IMO I think the renegade can look great in darker colors like a dark green, dark blue, etc.

Karamich If you focus on the marketing photos from Jeep, you notice that one of the trims looks exactly like this one except that no official marketing photo I saw yet, show the Renegade in Dark colors ??!?

Thus this one gives a clue as for the dark colors (NOT to get) for such a design

The large and bold plastic facade / bumper being pitch black + black body with no accents of material or contrasts etc will certainly give you a plain and boring bold cube like the one in the photos

I think dark colors are not a good idea for this design...

Also this one is most probably the basic (sport?!?) trim (probably 2x2)

What makes the design of the Renegade attractive (from marketing photos) is that it combines different materials / contrasts inside out and the funky colors give the whole design an attractive modern look.

I think that either Red, Orange, Anvil or White, all these will certainly look much better than any dark blue or green or even black on the Renegade

Also, the Trailhawk looks the best among all trims. Notice that the same difference exist between the plain and not so attractive Cherokee 2014 sport and the very well balanced in terms of material and design Trailhawk.

So i think these photos show exactly the basic model in a dark color.

That was my designer input

Cheers

What do we really know about the internals/engines/transmissions though? The wranglers have been tested. Will the renegade TH compete down the road after its been beat up a little bit?

KL Cherokee, 2015 200. Well they share the 2.4 at least and the 1.4T can be found in the 500 Abarth... The AWD system is a near copy of KL's, same goes with the 9 speed..

CARenegade Looks like an early test prototype. I wouldn't be so critical in comparing this to the final retail model.
