Still having a really good experience with my Trailhawk. I went to the North Rim Grand Canyon on Saturday where I passed over the 1,000 mark while off-road.

There were two trails I came across for off-roading (depending on your definition) that branch off each other. There's a warning sign recommending high clearance / 4x4 before proceeding.

The path to Point Sublime is 18 miles and they estimate it takes 2 hours each way to travel. I drove maybe 5 miles, but turned around as this was an accidental find and not on the agenda, but the Jeep did well. It's a 1 lane path and only came across another vehicle which was a Wrangler. We waved as passed.

The other trail is the Arizona trail. According to the map it looks like it runs into rt 67 but I couldn't finish to find out as there was a fallen tree along the way blocking the path. I was unable to move it on my own as it was tall, but if I had a chain I could have pulled it out of the way with the tow hook so I turned back.

Jeep did very well, nothing too hard, just a lot of bumpy areas. I'm sure a 4x2 Jeep would have been ok. I definitely would not have taken my 2012 Ford Focus on it if I were still driving it. Next visit I'll drive the full 18 miles to the top.

We drove through the Kaibab Forrest to get there. A lot of twists and turns at higher speeds, and the Jeep handled them as well as a car would. I felt comfortable and in command.

The only oddity of the whole trip was after getting off the one trail back to paved road the drive felt weird. Almost if it were in wrong gear but not red lining. My g/f seemed to notice too and asked if I switched the 4x4 to a different mode which I didnt and was still in auto. It corrected right away.

The 1st 1000 miles are going well. The complaints I can think of are very minor (ie keyless entry only unlocks driver door (it does all doors on our Grand Cherokee).

Here's to many more trouble free miles!

Sounds like you're driving your new Jeep the right way! I'd love to see some picts of those trails you were on (is it a selfie if it's a pict of your Jeep?).

As for the Driver door unlocking... I think if you double click the unlock button on your remote, it'll unlock all doors. Also, I think you can set it to unlock all doors on the first click of the remote through the settings on your dashboard computer.

I'm speaking of keyless entry where my hand makes contact with the door handle to unlock so I can keep the keys in my pocket, but I'll check the settings in the car.

My g/f's GC will unlock all doors on the driver side with this feature. If I do it on passenger side on the Renegade it unlocks all doors.

I'll have to go through the settings. I only seem to think about it while I'm already driving.
