Loaded up the Renegade with our Rottie and went to a friend's house out in the country. They were using their driveway for dog carting so I passed it and turned around to park on the road. I decided to pull down into about a 3-4 foot sloping ditch and when I hit bottom it was full of deep, wet mud. Wife thought we were going to be stuck for sure. Threw it in reverse and slid around a bit, pulled forward a few feet then reversed again and she finally crawled out leaving foot deep ruts.
I am used to my old Cherokee where the engine revs and the tires spin like ****. The renegade would not act the same way by design I'm sure. It did it's selective, intelligent work. Just feels weird to not hear the engine rev and tires spin wildly.
The Wife feels confident now though as she was wondering if it would be as good as her Escape in adverse conditions.
