My dealership just got back to me. For a Sport with air and auto and 4x4 its going to cost 29,285 plus tax. That is just crazy! NO THANKS! I hate to see what the Trailhawk would cost.
Sport model 4x2 starts at 19,995 CAD plus freight which is 1695 where l am, A/C is a ridiculous 1495 plus the 100 air tax. In my opinion Jeep has out priced themselves with this vehicle!
Interesting discussion here! I just wrote a post in another thread about the fact that here in Canada, the Renegade sales might be positive with Sport or North editions but not the Trailhawk...

However now that I read the quote that you got, I think the poor little Jeep will not get a market chance at all! At least not here in Quebec, where, in addition to the Canadian high car prices and fees we have our lovely province taxes and fees...

And based on your dealer quote, I think there will be a big weird competition of value vs price between this Renegade and the Cherokee

Something is not right about the prices for Canada

When the embargo was lifted last Friday many reputable sites published the pricing. driving.ca for example listed some example prices and fuel economy estimates as well. The most complete price list was (I think) from the French site guideautoweb.com but I can't remember. In any case, one of the known Canadian sites have a breakdown of prices by trim level, but not details on package costs... only that 4x4 was $2000 extra.

looks like the dealership sales guy l spoke with was right on the button. I bought a 2014 ford F-150 regular cab 4x4 with only 15,000 km on it last week. He was asking 22,800, got him down to 21,000. Im happy with my purchase and l can afford that! Its all l need and l still gt the new vehicle warranty. Personally l think the renegades are too much. I wanted something with 4x4 because of the winters we have where l am and as much as l wanted to get the renegade its just too much for my budget. I think you may see a lot of people buying them 4x2 and in the 1.4 engine.

I configured the Sport and North models with the 1.4 because I need to shift gears on something. Due to the fact that a MT is only available on with the 1.4 engine I think (have to test drive) I'd be okay with that.

What I don't understand is the jump in price on the Sport 4x2 to the Sport 4x4. $6100?!?!? Really?!?!? Like Dayam! I note there are a lot of additions in terms of options included with the 4 x 4 but for crying out loud man! $6100 !!!!!

OK...so, any Canadians buying the Renegades? Pricing is high, but seeing the side-by-side comparison, they seem in the ballpark with the competition.

And the 0% financing doesn't seem to be jacking up the price too much.

For me, the options are limited, because I want 4WD and manual transmission, and I don't think any of the others on that list have both in the same package (you an get either/or in the Mazda, I don't know if the Honda even has 4WD, and the Juke is just too...funky...for stodgy old me.
