Howdy! So my requirements/wants are 4WD and MySky, Lat or Ltd, in Red, Blue or Yellow. Still slim pickins within 200 miles of Western NC, but I'm looking to buy closer to the end of the year. I'm just anxious to located one that I like, and then obsess and monitor the dealership daily, hoping it doesn't sell.

Anyway, asked my buddy at the dealership closest to me when there'd be more inventory on the lot with the options I want, and he said by Labor Day, then said he didn't know if they'd be '15s or '16s. Anyone have insight on how long the '15s will be produced? As tough as it is to wait, I was thinking that by December or January, I might get a better deal/financing incentive to take a 15 off the lot and make room for a 16.

Thanks in advance.. great forum... and enjoy living vicariously through the rest of the owners.

I believe cars that are built after a certain date in September will be labeled as 2016. Well, at least that's what it used to be. Some cars (like the Renegade) did not arrive for sale in USA till around March 15. So, will 16 Renegades come out this fall, winter or spring of 2016... not sure. LOL

Not sure when Jeep will start offering factory rebates on the Renegades? It might be sooner than later if sales #s are not what they expected.........

Hello, we went by our dealer and they had just got in a TH fully loaded like ours, The sales people had gone through their training on the Rens knew a lot more than before. drove by two days later and it was already gone. Who knows what the sales will be as there making them overseas as fast as they can.

I guess it depends on your area. I drove by my dealer this morning and they had ten trailhawk models. At least three of those were there last Sunday. They had a good amount of other models too. If they ever get a white with MySky then the hard decision will be whether or not to buy a 15 and have the tow added or wait for the 16's to arrive.

I was told by a friend that that has sold Chrysler, Jeep, Dodges for over 25 years that even the dealership owner has no idea what is going on with the Renegade. It's the first of the Chrysler/Fiat merger. He did say though that typically with the late launch of the 2015 it would most likely be a late 2016 launch.

Hope that helps!

I've moved from an "early adopter" wannabe on this to a "wait-and-see" skeptic. Early production vehicles typically have quirks, but there are too many in the Renegade's debut, well documented on this forum: balky transmission, questionable build quality in the details, no MySky, trailer receiver/hitch, tonneau cover, and so on. Now, apparently, the "camouflage" green color (my pick) is gone. Then I wonder: will MySky leak or be noisy at road speed? Will TrailHawks be available with other than black interiors. The short of it is that I've gone cool on the whole deal. For now.

My MySky works perfectly. As does the rest of my Trailhawk. Been through several rainstorms as I reported on the no problems thread.

Tonneau cover works great as well. I posted pics in the ownership forum.

Glad to hear of your good experience Foobar. I'm inching along, since I don't have another choice in mind. I'm probably not going to wait for a diesel and a panoramic reinforced glass sunroof. Just in the wrong continent for that anytime soon.

I was going to wait for the panoramic glass sunroof version. But on second thought I am thinking of getting the My Sky version after all. Main reason is that it can get boiling hot inside a car, especially if the sunshade does next to nothing to keep the heat out. For certain the solid My Sky panels will block all of that heat out. I saw one on a dealers lot after hours and out of town last weekend. I could not get inside the car to look at it as the dealership was closed. Two local dealers here have a total of 4 of them in transit, two of which are Sport models.

One nifty feature that you do get with the My Sky roof is rear map lights, built into the rear door handles. Don't know if anyone has noticed that feature yet.

I'd say 2017 and beyond. But, it's your money. I don't see much changing in the line between the first two years. Jeep has their hands full with lots of recalls and quality issues as of late. Whatever shortcomings the Renegade line is experiencing will probably take time to sort out.

Thanks for the info.

Djeff...I am the same, no other vehicle appeals to me. My 07 acura rdx, a hand me down from my wife, is fibe, showing it's age, and a good drive but not fun. I had an 07 wrangler unlimited (bought new), then after 2 kids came along, the death wobble showed up along w/ some other issues, but I still miss it. The Renegade seems like a fun, safe compromise, and much easier to remove the roof.

I've ruled out a few other vehicles, including:
-used Mini Countryman all4 (fun to drive, dual sunroof, but scared of repair costs and low ground clearance in the snow, plus closest dealer is 90 Mins away)

-used murano cross cabriolet (I just can't get into the styling)

-subie crosstrek (just couldn't fall in love with it)

I'd be willing to entertain other suggestions. Despite some of the Rene issues posted, I loved the way it handles, styling, and overall experience. So this fall, at least at this point, I want to make it so.

You should be able to get a great deal on a 2015 Renegade now. Some dealers are advertising discounts.

FYI 2015 Jeep's have 100,000 miles on the powertrain vs 60,000 starting on 2016 models (both 5 years). If you're going to put a lot of mileage on something to consider.

I'm also in the market for a new vehicle and find myself both excited and perplexed by the Renegade's styling. However, it sort of fits the bill of something I am looking for.... small, fairly compact, decent mpg but also capable in terms of towing/hauling. It also helps that the car fulfills some sort of personal aesthetic preference (though, I have found the more "rugged" colors look kind of goofy in person for some reason).

Based on feedback on a number of forums, the Renegade unfortunately got crossed off my list pretty quickly. Otherwise, it seems like a nice effort on Jeep's/Fiats part outside of some consistent, nagging first year model launch issues.

After exploring other options, I decided to just hold out on a new car for a while but keeping an eye out for potentially great deals. Kind of curious about Jeep's new "Compass" or whatever the Compass/Patriot replacement will be in addition to the re-designed Countryman (also scared about those repair/maintenance costs).

2015 or 2016 Renegade?

I have decided to get a Renegade, plan on Trailhawk with Cold Weather and Popular Equipment groups. The question becomes should I grab a 2015 now or order a 2016?

To be honest the negative I see for 2016 is the change to beats audio, I read nothing but horrible things about that in the fiat forums anyone know the deal? Any other positives or negatives between the two years?

Other difference is the only color that seems to be out there right now with both options is yellow so I wouldn't really have a choice on that if I go for 2015.

Some are going to say that the Renegade (should) get better as they mature and I'm sure that is true however, 2016s are going to be built or are already being built so likely some bugs to still work out. Not sure if it will make a big difference. What is the disadvantage of the Beats audio? I know nothing about the system.
