I just got a call from the salesman I'm working with who tells me that I can now order a 2016 Renegade. I'm to meet with him tomorrow so I have few other details that I can add at this point.
One interesting thing he did say is that Jeep will allow you to order the specific brand of tire you want (from several choices) when you order a Trailhawk. He is supposed to email me some info to look at tonight before I go in to see him.

I will report back with any interesting info that comes out of that meeting.

I met with the salesman today and we worked out the order.... I took it home to "think about it" over the weekend as they can't place the order until Monday or Tuesday. According to the salesman, any dealer can order now. The only hiccup is that the 2016's have a few new option codes so the dealers computer software needs to be updated. He said that wouldn't effect ordering, however.

Prices are comparable to 2015's. I asked about Jeep reducing their powertrain warranty to 60 months and he said they had no knowledge of such a plan but he will check into it for me.

I just ordered a 2016 black and black Jeep Renegade Trailhawk last week with the trailer hitch package, premium Nav package. romote start, keyless entry, and Premium Trailhawk package (previously called: premium leather group 2015). They raised the price of the Premium Trailhawk Group and lowered the prices of romote start and keyless entry. They submitted my order before the 2016 was officially released with an estimated 5 percent increase over the 2015. It ended up being a couple hundred dollars less than the 2015 quoted price. My order has been accepted in Italy already.

I placed my order for a 2016 Trailhawk today and was quoted about 4 months. That said, could be less, could be more. I ordered a powered MySky and the towing package, both of which are available now. The dealer had a MySky in a latitude so I at least got to see one in action before I signed on the dotted line.

The differences between the '15 and '16 are very minor, but there are differences. Hopefully now that they've got some experience under their belts they've got the manufacturing process straightened out a bit. Now if they could only do something about the time from order to delivery :)

Could you go over the differences?

Besides some new colors and older ones not being available, the main thing I heard was the rear interior was slightly redesigned to create a little more cargo room. '16s should also have all the latest software tweaks so hopefully most of the problems that showed up in the early 2015 deliveries have been addressed.

The 2016's are priced comparable to the 2015 models so the way I look at it, I get a year newer car for the same price. I don't mind waiting a bit as this way I am assured of getting the options that I want. On the other hand, if a dealer offered you a deep discount then a 15 might be the way to go.....

In my case, I took advantage of the Friends and Family discount and negotiated a price below the dealer invoice (not sticker, invoice) for the vehicle.
