W E L C O M E ! ! !I've been having this same problem with my 2017 renegade sport. I've tried the dealership and no luck on fixing it there. The check engine light had went off by the time I had got there. I still have a warranty but it's close to expiring. I'm overly annoyed with it at this point after it's been to different shops with no fix.
I took it to a shop I trust yesterday and found out that I had a coil pack and spark plug go out. It's been driving right so far. Hopefully that fixes the problem after 3 shop visits. It's sad the dealership couldn't find that a week ago when I had took it to them.W E L C O M E ! ! !

Failed motor mounts is a common cause of the Renegade jerking.
Even if the engine light had turned off before you got to the dealer, the vehicles keep track of codes. There are 3 types of codes that the dealer can identify:
Historic Codes (codes the vehicle had, but no longer meet the criteria for and active engine light),
Active Codes (codes present that have an engine light),
Pending Codes (A fault that is pending that has not yet meet the criteria to set an engine light).
There is also a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for a shift issue with the Renegade (your Renegade may require a software update for the transmission).
Awesome, Glad that you were able to get it taken care of.I took it to a shop I trust yesterday and found out that I had a coil pack and spark plug go out. It's been driving right so far. I am still having the same Jerking issue with my Renegade, i took it back to the Dealer twice already and they keep telling me nothing is wrong and all updates were done. Supposedly its an intuitive transmission and just needs to learn how i drive. I've been driving it for 3 months now and anytime it coast around 30mph it jerks. Its like something with that gear is slipping. If it was just the trans needing to learn how i drive compared to the previous owner it should have figured itself out by now right?W E L C O M E ! ! !

The dealerships wanted it to sit in their shop for 3 days to a week (depending on which I took it to) before they looked at it too. I couldn't get a rental car until they knew the problem either.Awesome, Glad that you were able to get it taken care of.
It seem that some dealerships won't want to waist their time on little issues. plug and coil is an easy diagnosis and repair.
The dealerships wanted let it sit for 3 to 7 days before they looked at it depending on which one I went to as well. I have one vehicle and there was no way I could do that.Awesome, Glad that you were able to get it taken care of.

Mine would be in between 2nd and 3rd gear it would Jeremy. It was misfiring. The dealer never said anything about learning how I drive or anything. I've had it nearly 3 years when it started though. I've drove it today and it done great. I ended up taking it to an automotive shop that I had used for Toyota I had years ago to fix it.I am still having the same Jerking issue with my Renegade, i took it back to the Dealer twice already and they keep telling me nothing is wrong and all updates were done. I think thats about where mine is, i've never had a 9 speed before so not entirely sure how it shifts compared to a 6. I'll have someone check out my spark plugs and coils just in case. Doesn't sound like the dealership knows whats going on so i'll take any advice and check what i can. You're welcome good luck. Mine is automatic so I'm not sure if it'd be the same but it's worth a shot.I think thats about where mine is, i've never had a 9 speed before so not entirely sure how it shifts compared to a 6. I'm not sure. I've had mine for 5 years now and the problem still exists. If the transmission has not learned my driving habits by now, it never willI am still having the same Jerking issue with my Renegade, i took it back to the Dealer twice already and they keep telling me nothing is wrong and all updates were done. I’m having the same exact problem except my Jeep dealership was unable to diagnose anything, kept it for five days, and charged me $190 even though it’s under warranty. Hopefully everyone else isn’t having the same situation because right now I’m really regretting purchasing the Jeep.Hello klittle15,

Hi there! If you plan to bring your Jeep to a certified dealership and need support, we're happy to help. Send us a private message to get started.I'm having the jerking issues around 20 - 30 mph. It's very concerning. I just bought out my lease and have around 63k miles on it. I love the car but cannot afford to be dumping money into something. What is my best course of action? Thank you so much in advance for your help! I have a 2017 deserthawk renegade. I can relate to almost every reply on this thread. I hope there is a fix that won't cost a ton!
Lora beth- are you still all clear or was it a temporary fix?I took it to a shop I trust yesterday and found out that I had a coil pack and spark plug go out. It's been driving right so far.
