If I am listening to my blue tooth for several hours my Uconnect will drop my phone and not pick it back up, when I try to connect my phone to the USB or Aux I do not get the option to try those they are greyed out. Also have had issues with the radio not even coming on till about a mile down the road or not coming off the warning screen even in reverse. Any ideas how to fix issues? mechanic friend of my said to just get a new vehicle as I will always have issues!

There is a Hard Reboot option.

With the ignition on, or the vehicle running, Push and hold the Power and Enter buttons at the same time for approximately 10 seconds. Release the buttons and the radio should perform a hard restart. Sometimes it might take a few seconds before it powers off and restarts.

I already tried this route and no one was able to help me.

They said that my phone was not compatible with Uconnect.

I had a google pixel 2xl and connection was just terrible.

got a Pixel 4xl now and I still get the problem once in a while.

Radios shouldn't discriminate what type of phone I have. They should work on all phones

My radio will do the same - Has a mind of its own

Wont connect or even turn on for miles down the road , or turn on to only turn off by itself with a blank screen

Then it won’t turn back on for minutes

Problem is its very sparse

It has been 4 years since my last uconnect update. I guess there won't be any more for me.
This is first update in 3 years.

I read some place that uconnect is working with the dealers and performing updates to on our uconnect stereo's to version 18.50.something for "FREE" due to OTA update issues.
... it would be worth looking into. Also, on the uconnect website (listed above), uconnect was asking about about updates being sent to their customers on a flash drive. It sounds like if you are having update issues, and you want to perform the update yourself, uconnect will send you the update on one of their "approved" flash drives.

I did learn yesterday, after talking with uconnect tech support, that if you have a quality named flash drive, uconnect doesn't work, NOT kidding. uconnect recommends PNY and Kingston brand flash drives. 4GB to 32GB sizes only. (to be fair; PNY and Kingston flash drives are in the Top 10 Flash drives review for 2019 and 2020 (in the top 5 actually))
AVOID the popular named brands like: Verbatim, SanDisk, Samsung. AND any flash drive that has any type of encryption. Even if it has been formatted, doesn't read well (if at all) on our uconnect stereo's.

I have been using SanDisk for many years, in fact I am using a 32GB SanDisk for media play. It takes a long while at time to load and start playing music, but it eventually does start playing.
Now, I am going to go to WalMart and pick up one of those PNY 32GB flash drives to install the update (because I am getting a 'File not Supported' error using my SanDisk flash drive) after I am done with the update, I am to try playing music on it. I want to see if the PNY flash drive will load and start playing faster that the SanDisk flash drive.

I checked the website last night and the only update listed for my Renegade is the one I did 4 years ago. I have a uconnect 5.0 system. I understand what you are saying about the flash drive used, the Kingston worked fine for me, it didn't like Samsung or Verbatim.

I would be interested to know if you see some improvement with the PNY.
