Ok folks, lets all get on the same page. We have had multiple posts from many people explaining that Jeep will not be doing custom orders for the Renegade, at least for now, and maybe forever, like FCA does for Fiats and the Promaster City.

If you are being told otherwise by your dealer, regardless if they show you a "Renegade Custom Order Form" (yeah, I can make one of those up in Microsoft Word as well, sort of like an FCA April Fools Press Release).

So what are we dealing with?

1) We all know, and if you don't the forum members are here to help you understand, that 90% of vehicle sales people lie and will do and say anything to get a sale on the books "TODAY!"

2) Barring their inability to do so the will do and say anything to get you on the hook, including trying to convince you they really have placed a "Custom" order for you. THEY CANNOT, FCA Jeep is not allowing it, all they can do is look at incoming inventory at the port or at other dealers to see if they can get something close to what you want to fulfill your "Custom Order".

Here is the best example to date of the lengths to which 90% of vehicle sales people will make up lies and BS to separate you from your dollar$:

Got a call from a dealer today who stated that I can "request" a "custom order Renegade" as long as I pick two vehicle color options and let them take a credit card deposit of $500. So this is how it works. I would get first chance to purchase the Renegade with all my "custom options" if they get one for allocation.
[dealer] "We don't know when we will get them and you have to pick two color options to make the request" [me] so if you are "custom requesting" a new vehicle, why do I have to give you a second car color? [dealer] "well if we get one in the second color you would have first chance to purchase it"
LMAO !!!!!!!! Ah, no thanks, I'll wait till the 2016s come out at this rate.

That's basically what I was told yesterday. Hopefully they will get limited models in that doesn't have the safety group package. Don't want that, but I can live with some of the other stuff.

Yeah I was clearly lied to because as CalTom stated I was shown a "custom order form." What a bunch of bull. I was also told that they wouldn't be allowed to discount any off MSRP. I can't believe they think I'd pay full MSRP for a 2015 30k vehicle that I won't get to drive until 3rd or 4th quarter 2015. I can't stand this crap.

This irritates me!! I've already been waiting since last summer and now it's going to be another 6 months before I can maybe get the veh I want. I think Jeep did a poor job rolling this out.
I think the fact that it rolled out overseas first and we had lots of time to fall in love with it before it arrived here. Now to get what you want (options) more months will go by.

I'm starting to become very turned off by the Renegade. I tend to be very picky about my cars, and chances are nobody is going to get a vehicle the way I want it. There are so many cars to choose from, I'll most likely just get something else where I can place an order for the vehicle I want exactly the way I want it.

Yeah, I've pretty much written it off too. They put out a configurator with vehicles you cannot order (1.4), and configuration features that contradict (Manual and Towing) and so forth.

But few if any vehicles in the Renegade's class look as good. And you can get the towing package if you get a 4x4 with the 1.4T and manual.

I logged in this morning and it looks like we may be able to place SOLD ORDERS only - however it could take at least 4-6 Months....with that being said, let me see if I can confirm this with my inventory manager this morning.

When you get more information please share with us.

When you say you are able to place sold orders, does this mean I can order a Renegade the exact way I want it, it'll just take 4 to 6 months to get it?

Another post on here describes the ordering system. It's up to the dealers to decide how much "down" money is required. A lot of people on here will be happy. But according to the email from FCA, it will take up to 16 weeks for custom orders.

You should be able to - It'll just depend on what options will be available to order with certain packages like always.

When you say "sold orders only" does that mean 100% paid at time of order???
As in deal written and deposit taken and order placed on the vehicle with all of the customers information - Just like any other sold factory order. Once the vehicle has landed and is in existence - then at that time financing can move forward and get the approval for customers who are financing.
