I'm not sure if I've only just noticed this, or if it's due to an OTA update. But recently on my Compass I've noticed that the front motor/generator is lighting up and pulling battery power when in full electric mode. (As indicated on the eHybrid Power Chart.) Petrol engine is clearly not running nor is regen occuring during this.

Does this mean that the front end is getting a little 10-20BHP push at low speeds in addition to the RWD main motor?

(Posting here as little or no PHEV activity on the Compass forum. Just posts about problems with UConnect audio fading to zero for no reason on the US on MY22 models.)

From the explanations I've seen of the system, it sounds like it just takes steps to keep the crank shaft spun up on the engine as is appropriate for the current speed. It's not clear as to why, but the explanation definitely says it will power up to smooth over torque transients.

So maybe keeping the engine spinning so it doesn't act like a jake brake?
