I had to bring in my 3 day old Trailhawk to the dealership yesterday due to a Service Engine light that appeared after 263km of use.

I read about someone having an issue with their 4x4 knob, it always reverting back to Auto, so I tried mine and it did the same thing. The 4x4 low and lock options are malfunctioning as well. Anyone else having this issue?

The dealership was able to order the new computer part from Chrysler, and they informed me that Chrysler is aware of this glitch in their system and they will do whatever it takes to make it right.

Fingers crossed...:(:crying:

I've seen a few threads with that issue. Some had a service 4WD light come on, others had check engine. Some of the different outcomes
were:
defective power transfer unit
a loose plug connection
needed a software update
loose battery connection
AWD module

(yes, I've been trying to keep track!)

Keep us updated on yours and good luck with it!

My service light came on around 4000 miles. I was going to take it in the next day, but then I was off the next day. Waiting for it to come back on and then take it in for service.

My service 4wd light came on and wouldn't let me switch drive modes. I turned the car off and then turned it back on and it went away. Hasn't happened again, yet.

If you're playing/testing the 4low and rock drive mode, you have to have the car in drive or neutral. If you have it in park, the lights will flash on the knob and set back to auto.

Thanks White THawk, I will try it when it's in D or N, I may have been in Park when I was trying it out.

So far, I've had it back for 2 days with no issues. The dealership has not replaced the computer part yet, will take about a week to arrive, and my service engine light hasn't come back on.
