A/C is Super!!!!

It has been in the 100's for past couple of weeks and hit 119 today and I must say I am really impressed with the a/c performance of the Renegade. I've had new Chevy, Hyundai and Honda during my residence here and none performed as well and flawlessly as my Renegade. If Jeep needed a test area for their Renegade a/c system, this would be an ideal place to test.
I have had nothing but great experiences from this vehicle and really feel that Jeep has a winner with the Renegade.
If anyone is worried about a/c, I would say that it is a non-issue with this vehicle. If it can handle the temps of the lower desert of California, then it can handle anything.

Good to know, as I'm in AZ & have had the same concerns. My current vehicle 2001 Ford Escape.... as much as I like it, is terrible in the heat.
I agree about the air conditioning! It has been great! Where exactly is the "lower desert"?
Same here! Love my Renegade's A/C. You know your A/C is good when you actually have to turn it down a notch or two because its getting too cold.

Imperial Valley, Calexico/Mexicali. Glad everyone seems to be having same results with their air.
Same here in the hot state of Texas! I don't think I've used max yet because its too frigid. I do wish I could tint my front side windows a lot darker than the state allows but the dumb state inspection takes care of that idea.

I came from florida and had them blacked out on every car I've owned due to no state inspection and rolled the dice with police. never had an issue. i think the super dark tint on the silver renegade would look so good and keep it nice and cool.
Thank you for posting something positive! This place is a scary read for those of us waiting on delivery!

Do not fear your new purchase. As I stated before, I have had new Chevy, Hyundai and Honda and all were with problems. My experience thus far with Renegade has been great. You will enjoy the vehicle and the vehicle quality (inside and out) on my latitude has been exceptional. You will learn that vehicle forums are populated with concerns some have found with their vehicles, but seldom do you see positive post from owners who have had no problems. I am totally happy with my Renegade and I am hopeful you will have the same with your vehicle. I try to be positive with everything I purchase, including my vehicles. Enjoy your new Renegade as it sounds if you will receive soon.

Glad to hear that just picked up my Trailhawk and live in Texas so AC performance is crucial
So I'm chiming in here from the Southeast, how are other TH owners here dealing with the Heat and the lovely Humidity we have had to go along with it? I love my Renegade, but I'll be honest: I haven't been very impressed with the A/C this summer.

I have to really crank up the A/C (almost to max) to really get it cool down, and even then, it will take a while. The black TH interior doesn't help things either... :).
The dual zone auto A/C option is incredible if anyone is unsure about it. I set it for 70 degrees when I bought my TH and haven't touched it since. It automatically adjusts the temperature, fan speed, and location based on the temp in the car.
Also appreciating the AC. We drove out to the high desert last weekend, temps near 100, and it was perfect.
A/c passengers ????

What about the backside seats ....there is no cooling ?? Anyone??

Although I have not ridden in backseats, other family members have said temp.is comfortable. Have noticed that even cargo area is relatively cool when I opened hatch removing items. All I can say is that this a/c is more than adequate here in the lower CA desert which is usually the hottest area in the USA. I have had a 2014 Hyundai and 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet and both of them could not keep up with this heat. The renegade has had no a/c adequacy problems thus far.

Understand your concern with the new baby. I think you will be happy with the a/c. Hope you receive your new vehicle soon and enjoy it as I have mine. Enjoy.

Billy- On my Trailhawk there are no mid zone vents for the back, but there are floor vents for the rear passengers under the front seats. Great place to put those little vent mount air freshener sticks if you're a smoker like me (I know, I know, don't hate me).

Well . . . liked the A/C for the first month of life, but then. In Puillman, WA right now, and it's been hitting 100 F for a week now. Very unusual for up here. Anyway, the A/C wasn't getting as cold as it should under these conditions. Took it to the local dealer and 2 1/2 hours later they had evacuated the system, pressure tested it, and then refilled it. Didn't discover any leaks but the technician told me that when he first checked the system it was very low on refrigerant. He had no idea why as he couldn't find any leaks. Go figure. Been working fine since. Keeping my fingers crossed.
