To do the programming you need to first disable cruise control and then do a proxy alignment.
Go into alfaOBD and connect to your body computer

Then go down to car configuration change

Then type in cruise control. It should say present, change it to Absent.

Now we will do a proxy alignment. It is right above car configuration change.

Now hit start. You do this with just the odb programmer plugged in at first. It will prompt you when to plug in the grey cable.

This takes awhile just be patient. It will tell you when each steps completes succesfully.

Once you get to where it needs the grey cable AlfaODB will pop up saying to plug it in. Shut off the ignition and plug the grey cable between your odb programmer and the security gateway bypass.

It tells you to turn your ignition on before hitting ok. All programming is done by hitting the start stop button without starting it. Don't put your foot on the break. At this time when you hit start/stop button you will get all kinds of errors on your screen. Don't worry about it until the grey cable step is finished. So once the grey cable is in press the ok button on your screen. It will write a few more steps and tell you it is successful.

Now shut your ignition off and wait 15 mins to program the advanced cruise control.

After the 15 mins is up. I am not sure if 15 mins is necessary but that is what I was told so I am being safe.

Go back through the same steps above but when you do a car configuration change you will enable acc plus
so go to adaptive cruise control and select ACC and then start

Now follow the same steps to do a proxy alignment and you should be good to go. Again I waited 15 mins before testing it.

I shut off the car and started it again and the acc worked again. Again I got behind a car and it through the error again.

I then went home and shut the car off for awhile and then went back out to test. It then seemed to work fine. There might be some kind of calibration or the car just needs some time to get the sensors to work through the computer. Here I am behind a semi on the interstate in a construction zone. You can see it slowed down to 47 and the acc was set to 68. I will test some more tomorrow but seems to be a success

Eric, thank you so much for this write-up. I have a 2021 Latitude with all the sensors needed, I just need to find the 2021 Speed Control Switch, as the one that claims to be 2019-2022 says its for 2019, 2020, and 2022.

I believe it's the same for all 4 years. Find a 2021 renegade with adaptive cruise and take vin number to a Mopar dealer and ask for the adaptive cruise button cluster. They should be able to look up the part from the vin to verify.

This is amazingly good news and thank you for such an excellent write-up.
I really wanted my next car to have Adaptive Cruise and I nearly didn't buy the Renegade because it didn't have it.

I'm so chuffed to find out it's already got all the necessary sensors, and I'm going to do this as soon as poss.

I first need to buy the diagnostic kit. One risk is that I already found out that there are differences in uconnect in my country (UK) and I hope Jeep haven't scuppered this possibility too.

Immediately I see one difference - I have no start button. Being a hybrid there is no "start" and it goes live on the key.
All programming is done by hitting the start stop button without starting it.

Was it necessary to do calibration?
