Like many of you, obtaining a Renegade with MySky is a royal pain. Rather than wait, does anyone know of any aftermarket alternatives that are or will be coming out that will allow someone to put in a MySky or MySky-esque option after purchasing the vehicle that they want?

Here's hoping!

I'm looking into a Webasto Hollandia 400 or Hollandia 500. Webasto actually makes a lot of the factory sunroof/moonroof/panoramics for manufacturers from what I've read up on and their systems are fairly stock looking. I'm getting in touch with a certified installer in my area to see what it'll run me.

I follow someone on Instagram that has a Renegade and he had an aftermarket sunroof installed through his dealer. He told me it was the same one used on the Grand Cherokee. It's a single pane regular sized sunroof but it's better than nothing and he seems pretty pleased with it.

I'm doing the same, at the dealer. Same one that goes into the Cherokee....non panoramic. At the dealer, they quoted $2200 but are giving me 10% off. Should take 2 days to install. The parts technician at the dealership met with me twice to discuss it. He trusts them so much that he just installed one in his wife's car. Totally stoked. Would actually prefer this over the MySky, being I won't ever really be sitting in the back seat. And there's many times I would like to have a sunroof without having to actually open it up. MySky is an open or shut situation....no glass option.

His instagram is @sircraigory and he said he got his for $1300. The downside according to him was with all the windows up going over 40 it has a "wind tunnel sound" not sure what he meant by that exactly but he also stated that it looks stock.

He can probably add a wind deflector to the front of the sunroof opening to address that issue.

Dont even bother- get the glass panels from Fiat as soon as the 500X comes out. You can insert them in your Renegade as it is the same car.

This could also be a viable option: http://www.webasto.com/us/markets-p...oofs/standard-inbuilt-hollandia-700-ii-entry/

Though you'd "need" two of them to get the effect of the MySky.

Strange. Thanks for the heads-up. It DEFINITELY makes me take pause. I have a moonroof on my 2007 Rav 4, with no such sound. I'll discuss it with the dealership for sure, along with the pics on the forum of the underbelly of the Renegades with their possible poor corrosion protection and plug issue, AND...share aardvark's experience with the missing clip and tranmission issue.

Bringing back this thread because I have an update.

Had my Renegade Trailhawk in to get the sunroof installed at the dealership. However, right before install, they second guessed that there wouldn't be any leaks--due to the grooves in the Renegade roof. The one they were about to install is the one they install in the Grand Cherokee....same one another Dealership said they would install, as well. What they chose to do, instead, was...apparently, there is now a sunroof specifically made for the Renegade. And, the sunroof is now being shipped from Italy. Sounds like the same one installed at the factory. Only problem, it takes a month to receive. Thankfully, I was visiting family back in Florida when all of this went down, just got back, and only have about another week for its estimated arrival.

Anyone already have one installed aftermarket?

Well that's more than interesting. Love to see if it's the European "Command View" factory sunroof. I would be more than surprised if some aftermarket sunroof installer can get their hands of that factory glass sunroof to install it here in the USA. I am guessing that it must be a Webasto brand aftermarket panoramic sunroof. Show pictures when you get it installed and let everyone know if it's a Webasto brand sunroof or if it's the factory glass Command View sunroof.

How much did this cost you? I just called our dealership (the parts guy hadn't even heard of "My Sky") and his system says about $3900 before taxes and installation.
