I'm looking for a winch solution that doesn't require an entire new front bumper. Something a bit cheaper, but hopefully sturdy enough to do the job. I've found the following possibilities:

ZEAK 10000lb. Advanced Electric Power Winch, 12V DC Waterproof, for Truck SUV Off Road Auto Wire Cable, Galvanized https://a.co/d/iBfYB9B

7BLACKSMITHS 10" x 4 1/2" Cradle Winch Mounting Plate Winch Mount Recovery Winches Bumper 2'' Hitch Receiver 15000 Lb Capacity https://a.co/d/fNDxipd

I think this equipment is sufficient for recovery purposes, but I don't know how much load the factory hitch on my Renegade can take. Does anyone know how this might work, or have any experience with a similar solution? I don't know if this is worth the effort, or if I should just get a come-along and call it a day. I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences.

So, 112 views and no replies. Is this idea just to off-the-wall? For now I'm going to invest in recovery boards and come-along. That will have to do for now I guess.
Recovery boards. Wow. I would think a couple of lengths of 2x10 or 12 and some carpet strips would suffice, but I really don't do much off roading. In regards to the come-along. If your frame it attaches to is capable of being pulled on by a come-along doesn't it stand to reason that it will stand up to a wench? Maybe my ignorance is showing. Good luck!

I'm learning my way around this, which is why I'm asking questions. I have the deserthawk model, which has recovery hooks on it just like the trailhawk. I know those are meant to be used for recovery, but I don't know about the trailer hitch. I have the factory hitch, and I know the vehicle is rated to tow 2000 lbs, but I have no idea what type of load it would support when it comes to recovery.
I've read when you purchase a winch you size it for three times the vehicle weight. I'm very worried that the hitch would not support that much load. I think recovery boards would be a good investment, and I believe they're going to be much more effective than a couple of boards and some carpeting lol If you take a look at these, I think you'll understand why they're more effective

I also think they'll be good in snow conditions as well as off-road.

Sorry I’m late to this.
I’ve done all sorts of recoveries, and to be honest, even with my fully built XJ, track boards and a few straps to a buddy rig have been more than enough. Rarely does my winch get used.

I also carry a come along. That said, you can use your tow point for recovery if you need to. I doubt we can get the lil toaster so stuck that the resistance would shear anything on the tow point.

If somehow you are trying to pull it up a cliff face by it’s butt use the tow hook and the recovery point, maybe a few lines around the rear diff, and a couple dozen snatch blocks!

I've read your point when you purchase a winch you size it for three times the vehicle weight. It's right. I agree with you. Because five months ago today, I also bought a winch for my brother's car. We installed the same heater in it and it was working perfectly. You don't have to worry. You must try it once and share your thoughts with me.

I have a 9.5 winch on our BU but on my Rubi I have a 12000 that can go on my front or rear!
