I am hoping it's nothing serious
In case you don't know, the infamous amber Check Engine Light (CEL), also known as Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL), shows up when just about anything is wrong with your engine. Originally meant to warn of problems that could affect emissions, these days it show sup when anything is wrong -- since anything can affect emissions.
Could be as simple as a DIY replacement of a sensor; or something much more serious (and expensive).
Only way to tell what it is to do a scan and look for fault codes. A cheapie generic scanner will pick up common faults; one that are specific to Jeep will probably need a specialized scan with AlfaOBD or similar, or at a dealer.
And, yes, any such fault at this point should be covered under warranty.
