Auto dim?

Is there an auto dim for the dash/console lights? I've noticed my lights would randomly dim then brighten. It's a like a mini rave anytime I drive anywhere.
Is this because I have my headlights set to auto?

It's just a "feature". I've found that if I turn the cluster brightness up all the way it will stop distracting me every time I go in and out of the sun. I don't like the cluster lights at full brightness at night, so I wind up adjusting the brightness when switching between day and night. It is not related to the Auto heading setting.

There is an option in the UConnect System under the Light category.
It's the first or second option I think.

Dashboard lights dim/bright at random?

When driving about the dashboard goes brighter, then duller again, at random, intermittently. I wondered if it was something to do with the feature where you turn a corner and one of the DRLs goes bright to help see at night, and that then increases the dash brightness?

Its doesn't bother me too much, just thought its a strange quirk.

Anyone else?
There is an ambient light sensor in the cluster. It turns on and dims the lights depending on high much light is on the cluster.
The effect is adjustable with the brightness control wheel. I find it very annoying and need to adjust the setting when transitioning from day/dusk to night.
I'll try the light catagory and also turning up the overall brightness afterwards cheers guys. I thought I was imagining it at first!
Same issue here. Very annoying.

Couldn't find anything in the light section to stop this :(
I have this same problem. I've had it for quite awhile and try to live with it. It's a complete joke. I've taken pictures showing the lights came on and dimmed the dash when it's perfectly bright outside. The sensor is WAAAAAY to sensitive, and the "headlight sensitivity" setting does nothing to stop it. Like others here, I like my dash dim at night, but in daylight when the sensor keeps kicking the dash dim and bright, it's a headache. I can't see the dash when I'm wearing sunglasses and there is no reason the dash should dim on a day that requires sunglasses.

Check my image here on a sunny day.

Late to the party here, but I searched the forum for this very "feature" hoping to find a way to make it stop. This is crazy. Hopefully Jeep gets the message that we DO NOT LIKE THIS.
It's poor implementation of brightness adjustment, based on the ambient light detected by the sensor.

No doubt from the same design team that thought leaving the parking sensor system active when the jeep is in Park - is a good idea.

They probably did the door seal design, that trap water after heavy rain.

Poor design, poor implementation, could not have been sufficiently tested.
Mine just started doing this. Lights are dim even at night unless I am driving fast for a while. I wonder if the battery is dying as its been 6 years from purchase. My radio also keeps turning off.
Get your battery checked immediately and replace if required. It sounds like your alternator needs checked just to be on the safe side as it may not be charging the battery.
