Hi all,

Just wanted to warn you all not to leave your Renegade with the lights switched to "auto" if you have ANY electrical issues. My Latitude is experiencing the lock issue and I believe it is a more elaborate electrical problem. To support my hypothesis, I always leave the car with lights switched to "auto", and apparently it didn't work that well since now the battery is dead. Getting my vehicle checked ASAP.

Actually, I never use the "auto lights" setting but thanks for the tip. I like the satisfaction of turning the knob when it starts to get dark.

I have a Jeep Longitude and a funny thing happened to me for the second time in the 3 weeks I have owned it.

My head lights 'went' on after I switched off the engine and the light switch was switched to off - and the kicker is that I do not have an auto on selection. My lights are manual on and off. I tried switching the lights on then off again (while the engine was off) but to no avail. I then started the engine again, switched the lights on (which they were already on) then off again. The lights turned off then and I then switched the engine off once again.

Like I mentioned before, this is the second time this has happened to me.

Can't see myself trying to explain this one to the dealer as it is too intermittent to notice.

Hi Guys,

It looks like I have found the problem (which BTW was self inflicted). I noticed that the last button on my key is a 'Lights on/off' function. I must be hitting it from time to time while pulling out the key from the ignition.

Sorry for the false alarm (not pun intended)!

Happy New Year everybody!!
