Overall I'm loving my Renegade so far, but one of the things I wish I could love a little more is the backup camera. I guess I've gotten used to our old CRV's camera with guidelines, and also my wife's current Encore has great backup guidelines that even shift automatically to help give you a better indication of where you are/where you're going.

Does the Renegade's backup camera have options somewhere that you can enable this? I guess I didn't realize how helpful those guys were in tight/weird spaces until I no longer had them... :|

I was able to turn on the guidelines on the back-up camera through the system access via the radio/entertainment system. I have the middle system with the two knobs and the touch screen. I think it was listed under something that wasn't completely obvious. I don't know if yours is the same or how many variations there are. I could turn on the back up guidelines but there is no proximity alert. Its very good at telling you exactly where the rear bumper is, but not as good as some at giving you an idea on side clearances. It does 'bend' while turning and the center line is pretty good.

^^^^^^^^
That's right. You can turn on the lines in one of the "radio" menus.

I'm not sure why they ship the vehicles with lines off as the default mode. There are some unusual default mode selections in the base systems, as well as a menu system that doesn't scream intuitive.

I've had my Trailhawk for about 6 weeks, made deposit from cell phone pic from the wash bay after it came off the hauler. It's a blast to drive but I still consider myself a beta tester to some degree.

My car is in the shop but I was wondering the exact same thing! Was bummed they didn't have guide lines. I debated even taking a sharpie to the screen lol. My mom also drives a crv so I got used to them.

If you could update with exactly how to do it, that's help a bunch! Thanks man.

OK this is killing me. My dealer had two trailhawks optioned the same. I test drove one and bought the other. I could swear the one I test drove had the backup guidelines turned on.

The one I took home doesn't have them turned on.

How do you turn them on? I have the 5.0 system with the 6 hard buttons, 3 each side of the screen, and two knobs.

Also, is there any way to make the stupid uconnect warning not appear every single time you turn on the car? It's driving me nuts.

Just to add, if I hit more and choose settings, I do not have the option of Safety & Driving Assistance.

Ok, here is procedure.
1/ Select +more button (bottom right)
2/ Select Settings,
3/ Choose down arrow, as there are more options on next screens,
4/ Select safety / Assistance
5/ Choose Parkview Back Up
6/ Choose active guidelines to turn on.
Hope this helps.

I too have the 5.0 system and my guide lines are on. The above should work.

Safety/Assistance

After pressing the “Safety/Assistance” button on the

touchscreen the following settings will be available:

When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (with camera

delay turned OFF), the rear camera mode is exited and

the navigation or audio screen appears again. When the

vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (with camera delay

turned ON), the rear view image with dynamic grid lines

will be displayed for up to 10 seconds after shifting out of

“REVERSE” unless the forward vehicle speed exceeds

up path based on the steering wheel position. A dashed

center line overlay indicates the center of the vehicle to

assist with parking or aligning to a hitch/receiver.

ParkView® Backup Camera Fixed Guide Lines — If

Equipped

When this feature is enabled, fixed (static) grid lines are

overlaid on the Rear Backup Camera image to illustrate

the width of the vehicle.
