Hello friends!

I recently purchased a black-9 speed auto-fwd-2.4L latitude. After having it for a week, I am starting to second guess some of my decisions. Should I have gotten the 4x4? Should I have gotten it in blue? Should I have gotten the TrailHawk? I think most of these after thoughts are in response to the reaction I have gotten from others. I have not met many people that like the way my renegade looks! They says it's a fake jeep. It is upsetting that everyone doesn't loves the renegade as much as I do! I haven't seen any others here in South Carolina, and I am starting to feel like a renegade. Has anyone else experienced this?

i have a black renegade sport, 1.4l 6 speed. i agree i had the same thoughts at first, but then i tinted the windows, put black rims on it to give it the "Blacked out look" and people say they like it now. I also put straight pipes on my rene, which makes it sound more like a sports car. Here is what it sounds like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ0MsR2Zyxk

But its your car, you picked it because you liked it. it doesn't matter what others say. and yes, all Wrangler lovers/owners are going to bash you for not buying a wrangler, but thats just their opinion.

Go with your gut.
Your first instinct is the most important and that was...."I love it that color!"
Otherwise you wouldn't have spent 25 grand, right? :) Everyone has different tastes...my point is illustrated by the fact that there are Pontiac Aztecs driving around out there.
Be happy...it's a great little car!

Seriously..... You Love it right? It's unique & it stands out.... And yes... It IS a JEEP..... says so right on the hood! lol It's not meant to be a Wrangler. I'm excited for several years to pass buy to see what some of these same peoples opinions will be then..... My guess is that several of them may own one by then!!:ReneBlueWave:

I do love it!! I never liked driving until this car. So that's what matters :) I agree, I think they will catch on in several years.

I like unique and the the Renegade is just that. I march to my own drum, so it was a great fit. I don't like to be cookie cutter. If you like it, then that is what matters! When I test drove the Renegade, I was at the dealership to drive a Ford Focus lol. Saw the Jeep and immediately had to look at it. Two weeks later, I drove it home.

I've been a fan of Jeeps since I was a little kid, when we had two: Super-Jeep (had big mudders, foot-shaped pedals, convertible top, soft doors) and Baby Jeep (old hardtop, converted mail Jeep). Wanted one my whole life up until 2000, and bought a '98 Wrangler (also with big mudders, and I took the hard top and doors off every summer in Las Vegas). I loved it, and ultimately sold it after 9 years, it just got too pricey to maintain.

Now, I'm lusting after a Renegade, and have been since it was announced. And I'm very, very puzzled by the Jeep fanboys out there who whine so loudly that it's "not a real Jeep," and that it looks "just like" a Kia Soul, Scion xB, Pontiac Aztek, Nissan Cube, etc. or even Fiat 500X. No, it doesn't. Not only does it not look like any of those vehicles, they don't look much like each other. If you have a problem with the design, the critique ought to have SOME merit, I think. And of course not every Jeep is a Wrangler. But after Patriot, Compass and Commander, you'd think they'd be all out of whines as to what a "real Jeep" is. If the Renegade was replacing the Wrangler, the critique would make total sense. But since the Wrangler lives on, I've just got to wonder what the **** the problem is.

My brother in law....a Wrangler owner, is the same way with me...."It's not a real Jeep." Taking it to a family gathering next weekend where he will have an opportunity to take it on the muddy trails..... I think he will change his mind. Also, I believe some of those Wrangler owners are intimidated by something new that may take away from their Wrangler "status"..... something so small can't perform as well as my big...

I have the same thing.

Heres the thing to remember about black.

It wont be as flashy as orange or blue or any other colour, but it will be classier. And its the only colour that chrome rims look good on (IMO).

CROM-You very accurately described my reasoning! Yes, it might not look as fun as the brighter colors, however it has a classy/luxury feel and I like the grill on it!
