Hey guys my names Mike from New Jersey , I just bought a renegade as a daily and I wheel a 2013 rubicon. I can't leave anything stock so my buddy and I are building a light bar that we wanna produce for the renegade guys. Made out of 1 3/4 roll cage tubing and it'll mount in the same place as the tow hooks. Here is our first bar , not yet finalized , please let me know what you think. And if there is enough interest we will mass produce it.

We based the design off the rallye concept I found online. And included with the concept pic will be a pic of my jk just so you guys know I'm not a phony lol.

I like the attachment points. But the lights are WAY too low for any type of off roading I do. If it had a second tube that went higher and placed the lights in front of the 7 slot grill, I would buy one if it was reasonably priced. Good work.
The welded tabs give you the options for both, once I get my bar powder coated I'll flip my lights around and repost the pic so you guys can get an idea and see if you like it
i like the general look of it, but it seems with the current attachment points that it makes the tow hooks unusable..
The tow hooks are still usable , I personal made sure they'd still be accessible once the bar was bolted in. If you use a regular flat tow strap you'll be fine. I will post pics when I bolt it up for you as well
Any update to this?? It looks pretty sweet. Makes me want to get a welder and tube bender and start playing myself.
I'm interested in this. I've always added a small front bar to my vehicles to attach a pair off road lights. I set them up so they only turn on with the high beams. Pic of my Kia Soul.

The bar would need to rise up above the license plate location. If it covers the plate, it gives cops a reason to pull you over.

This is a great idea. And yeah, it would need to not cover the front license plate. While NC (where I am) does not require a front plate, there are many states that do.
Santa... I know what I want for Xmas...

Put my name on the list! Of course if it was chrome it'd be faster
Too low and too exposed.
Where would you put the bar?
Where would you put the bar?
I would put lights up higher, like above the bumper, ahead of the grill or above the roof (like ahead of a roof top cargo box/cage).

Where you have them in the mock up is fine for a desert/sand dune runner. Other type of off-roading they are too low and too ahead of the vehicle; they'd likely get bashed. Plus, the idea of having aux light is so that you can cast more light ahead of you. Higher mounting location would optimize that.

Furthermore, I would run those rectangular high output LED bars instead of individual halogen lamps. LEDs are more vibration-proof.
