Figured I'd post here in the event people were wondering how it would turn out. This was my first time using Plasti-dip and I thought it turned out pretty decent. I need to clean up in the cracks a bit but overall I'm pleased. I found it helpful to watch YouTube videos on the stuff since I really had no idea what I was doing. I can't recommend a step by step way to do it, just masked and sprayed (making sure you cover all the air holes to the radiator!).

I think I like it! Good Job!

Wow. That turned out very nice. I like the overall effect on your black Renny.

That made my go out to the garage to look at mine. I don't think it would work as well on my Omaha Orange - it needs the bit of chrome contrast to keep from looking like an ad for the Baltimore Orioles. :)

I don't mind Chrome on my vehicles, so long as its not over the top, but that looks really nice.
Good Job.

Love it. I'm seriously thinking of doing the same to my Orange Latitude. Too bad blacking out the Jeep logo wouldn't be nearly as simple.
Blacking out the Jeep Logo with Plasti-dip is actually even easier. You just clean it with windex, then mask around the logo with a rectangle of open negative space and then cover up the rest of the hood to avoid overspray mist. spray the emblem with a few coats, 5 min dry time in between, then after like 3 or 4 coats, remove all the masking stuff after 5 minutes of spraying your last coat. Then let it dry for 4 hours...after that when you go to peel up the excess plastip surrounding the emblem, the emblem will actually "cut" the excess plastidip as you pull it up, so only the emblem will remain covered. Its pretty cool. Heres a video, fast forward to 10:25...
