I know for my Trailhawk, there are embossed circles where the tonneau cover anchors attach, but they will have to be cut out (or drilled) to install the anchors.

Ugh, that would stink but I'll see what they say tomorrow.

I have to say that my dealer is relatively clueless about the Renegades. He kind of apologized and said they were going for training in a few weeks. But you'd think they'd train their sales people before they launch the car.

For $75, the Tonneau cover is a great deal. It's a pro and con cover though. It's a hard cover, so it's harder to store if you don't want it on(such as if you had something too big in the cargo area. However it does articulate as the lift gate opens so you don't have to manually move it or roll it back like most tonneau covers. I figured for $75 it's worth it.

The parts alone for adding the tonneau cover after the fact are several multiples of the $75 configuration charge. I've got a set on order now to know for sure.

I haven't seen it on any vehicles at dealers. Does anyone else know if the first batch shipped over was equipped with any?

That's actually a great point. My dealer has gotten 4 Renegades in and not one had it, and I've not seen anyone on any youtube videos or dealer videos have one either. Just another thing that didn't make it in the first batches.

In Europe they have all the cover like this (most if not all the cars in Europe are sold with luggage area cover).

You don't get these in US?
We call it a parcel shelf in UK, every car comes with one. I usually remove it though and it only goes back on when I'm trading the car in for new.

Here in the U.S. It's an option called the Tonneau Cover. $75 MSRP

My wife asked about a cargo area cover, since this is what she used all the time on her old Chevy Tracker. The salesman didn't know of any cover being available. I have one for my Grand Cherokee, and had one for my previous two Grand Cherokees, and it sat in my garage until I traded the cars in. I never used it. The semi-permanent feature of the one shown in these posts doesn't look that inviting to me.

The darkened rear windows (except on the Sport) will help to hide any cargo. At least the darkened windows will make items less obvious.

Yeah, but not ideal. We hike a lot and often have stuff in that area if we're doing a non-camping overnight. Where we live and sometimes hike it's not a good idea to leave anything visible in the car.

Where are you guys seeing $75? My dealer quoted me as $107 + tax...

All my VW hatchbacks and my volvo wagon came with these and it's a little annoying that the Renegade doesn't. It didn't even enter my mind when looking at the car, unfortunately...

$75 is if you order the cover as an option before the car is built.

I don't know what's involved with installing the anchor points in a car that doesn't come with the cover. In my Trailhawk, the area where the anchor points go need to be cut or drilled (in the plastic cargo panels). I can only assume there are threaded holes in the metal bodywork behind the plastic panels to screw the anchors in to.

Yeah, I see what you mean. My sales guy just told me that I can install it myself, but I'm not entirely sure he knows what he's talking about yet...
