I love the design of these. I have the Yakima Loadwarrior but since it's rounded bars, I wasn't sure if I could safely ratchet one of those down.I use Rotopax now, so much easier to use. Home

Michael I must admit that when I used your link I found the mounts to be imho a fantastic addition.I use Rotopax now, so much easier to use. Home
Hey all, just got my TrailHawk set up with a rack system. Was able to swap over some old cross bars and towers using big U-bolts, and then bought a Reese basket for less than $100 at Wally World. It's only 42" long and not real strong, but it'll do what I need it for. Plus I mounted it flush with my crossbars by using another set of smaller U-bolts, so that any big weights, like a tandem canoe or lumber, will rest on the crossbars, not on the flimsy tubing of the basket. Here's a few pics:
Hey, got the basket installed yesterday!
This is the (large) Thule Cargo Basket, without the extension.
It looks like an extra 20" extension would bring it pretty near the front of the roof. I'll think about it.
Apologies for the rennie being covered in pollen. NYC these days!
Rob
Hey rangerjosh, sick ride, sorry your basket got stolen, that really sucks. Would you mind telling me where you got that mount for the rotopax for your yakima loadwarrior? I've been looking non stop for a solution. ThanksWanted to provide an update with my Renegade. The Yakima LoadWarrior I installed a couple of months ago was stolen 3 days after install. Honestly, it was my fault for not securing it better, but the theft still stung. (Especially when the police and insurance wouldn't do anything.) I finally (and regretfully) purchased a new rack and got it installed yesterday. To deter future thieves, I abandoned the included screws for safety screws & trimmed the ends for good measure. I also re-installed the RotoPax fuel can using a custom-made bracket that was partially welded. Finally, I added some JB weld to a few key locations to ensure that this basket stays put. I may add a second bracket on the other side at some point in the future.

It's a custom mount. I started with the standard mount and then added a couple of strips of cut and drilled steel to anchor it. Had to drill 2 holes through the tubes of the rack.Hey rangerjosh, sick ride, sorry your basket got stolen, that really sucks.
