I use Rotopax now, so much easier to use. Home
Michael I must admit that when I used your link I found the mounts to be imho a fantastic addition.

A concern however would be the location of fitting the bracket to create and make it structurally sound. If you find that spot or perhaps an alternative mounting bracket that spreads the load across perhaps the rear cargo door then I think you have found yourself a winning item (y)(y)

Wanted to provide an update with my Renegade. The Yakima LoadWarrior I installed a couple of months ago was stolen 3 days after install. Honestly, it was my fault for not securing it better, but the theft still stung. (Especially when the police and insurance wouldn't do anything.) I finally (and regretfully) purchased a new rack and got it installed yesterday. To deter future thieves, I abandoned the included screws for safety screws & trimmed the ends for good measure. I also re-installed the RotoPax fuel can using a custom-made bracket that was partially welded. Finally, I added some JB weld to a few key locations to ensure that this basket stays put. I may add a second bracket on the other side at some point in the future.

What size and brand are those tires ?
Hey all, just got my TrailHawk set up with a rack system. Was able to swap over some old cross bars and towers using big U-bolts, and then bought a Reese basket for less than $100 at Wally World. It's only 42" long and not real strong, but it'll do what I need it for. Plus I mounted it flush with my crossbars by using another set of smaller U-bolts, so that any big weights, like a tandem canoe or lumber, will rest on the crossbars, not on the flimsy tubing of the basket. Here's a few pics:

It's a custom mount. I started with the standard mount and then added a couple of strips of cut and drilled steel to anchor it. Had to drill 2 holes through the tubes of the rack.
