We got a letter today about the cooling fan . Our Jeep is out of commission right now because I’m scared to drive it due to it running hot and I’m worried it messed something up. So now 3 days later we receive this letter however are we going to have to pay for repairs if it did mess the engine up? Not happy with my Jeep that’s for sure had so many issues with it since we got it. And now this.

It's a recall, which means they shouldn't bill you a single dime.

If you knowingly and willingly drive it while hot and cause damage, that repair is on you. If there is resulting damage due to the cooling fan recall that is beyond your control, it should also be covered as part of the recall.

yep got my recall notice a week ago. took my car to the dealer and they replaced the fan assy for zero dollars. took almost two hours. to make sure that they replaced the fan I put a small yellow dot on my old fan.
they changed the fan per recall letter. the fan looks a little bit different from the old. it now has a bright metal shield in the back and the motor itself looks different too.

if your car is overheating now due to a bad fan, better let them know and have them send a platform to get your car. if they won"t do it make an appt for the recall and get a platform to bring your car in. do not drive it. they will not pay for other damages.

I just brought mine in this morning to get it repaired. I got the notice about a week ago, but it could've arrived during our 2-week trip to the Beach, during which the Rene sat for the whole two weeks and didn't get moved or started since we just drove the other cars. But even fully loaded and in traffic coming home in 95º+ temps, I never had any issue with temperatures of the engine or transmission getting too high.

I haven't seen anything about a fan recall. Is it for a specific year or model Renegade?

I can't even find anything on-line regarding a fan recall for Renegades.

2015, 16, and most 17's have a radiator fan being recalled. FCA are sending recall notices out in groups in order to keep up with demand.

Usually. Most repair facilities are required to keep a copy for a couple of years.
My dealer provided the work order but could not provide a copy of the receipt. I logged into my bank account and printed a copy of the statement that month and highlighted the charge. That sufficed.
