Here are my thoughts in a nutshell. I really want the Trailhawk for my wife, and its got me thinking pretty hard.
I don't want to get caught up in all the frenzy about buying this Jeep and let my emotions run wild. Her trade-in is a 2012 Fiat Lounge convertible, that I paid close to 30,000 for, and the market value is around 8500.00. I had to have the first one in Arizona, and now I am paying the price. Does it make sense to buy this when there are as much as 4000.00 off some other jeeps.

I would really really like to know their plans for 2016 models, again mainly the Trailhawk. Right now there are almost two deal breakers, first the black only interior, and second and even more important is to have a see through mysky like overseas.

so there you have it, the pondering goes on!!!!!

oh one more thing on the mysky that maybe someone can answer, it appears from everthing I have seen, that the power option only would open the first panel, and even then it appears to only open about half way, so 3/4 of the top is still closed.

That's my concern. I already told several dealerships that I wouldn't buy if I could purchase a Cherokee or Compass for less. Just doesn't make sense. I have several dealers in my area with shipments on the way so hopefully I can pit them against each other >:D

I'm single and only need the trunk space to fit a telescope so anything bigger than the Renegade is overkill...especially with my morning commute in Atlanta traffic.

They have yet to hit the lots in GA but when they do I'll check them out. Out here in the suburbs people mostly buy Wranglers, Unlimited or pick up trucks so it'll be interesting to see what sales are like in my area.

I just left the dealership, and they are running crazy deals on both the Cherokee and the Patriot. They have a pretty loaded Patriot for just over 20 thousand, and Cherokee was about 24 thousand with a lot of options.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference in price as to what state they're sold in, but this is a dealership in Michigan, in a fairly rural area.

Just wait it out if you want the Renegade. In less than a year you will see these types of discounts on the Renegade. There is some here in CA that already offering $1500 off. Plus it gives time for Jeep to work the bugs out.

Absolutely.

The Renegade is too new to have any deals on it. And this newness is the exact reason it's best to wait things out. You never know what sort of gremlins are lurking under the skin with a new car like this, especially one built by Fiat. Jeep is still trying to sort out the 9 speed auto in the 2014 Cherokee.

If you can get a Cherokee Trailhawk for less than a Renegade Trailhawk and you don't mind it's squashed face then it's a no brainer. The Cherokee is much more friendly to rear passengers with its slightly larger size.

Honestly, if your wife doesn't ever go off-roading (and I don't mean driving on a hard packed dirt road), it might be best to look at other brands.

Maybe next year there will be the new gasoline engine (2.0 turbocharged) and/or a diesel engone for NAFTA market.
Don't count on it.

still waiting

I stopped by my local dealership the other day to test drive a Cherokee because I'm quite tired of waiting for the Renegade. I figured I'd decide on my backup if the Renegade isn't for me. I did like the Cherokee, it isn't as cool looking as my Liberty or the Renegade but it does have all the features I'm looking for in my next veh. While I was there we discussed the Renegade and I was told they should have one in the next week or two. They have about 9 coming in and none of them have the mysky. The salesman said the mysky is probably going to be a late release, although I'd rather have a glass sunroof. He had just come from a training seminar where he got to drive one. All the sales guys seemed really pumped about the Reneage. Hopefully he actually calls me when they get one in, so I can take a look.
