Sure you've already figured something out that works...clean the scratch with rubbing alcohol and cover with a strip of clear tape until paint arrives. Then clean again with alcohol to remove tape residue, apply touch up paint. If you wax it, touch up paint will not bond, will eventually just fall or wash off.
Deep Scratch
Well not really a scratch, but a deep ding on the drivers door, right down to the metal. Only about 1/8" long. Ordered some touchup paint from Jeep, but will take a few weeks. My question is - do I leave the scratch alone until then? Or wax it so it doesn't rust? But then can I get that wax out to paint it? IDK. Any advice would be appreciated.
