Delay in XM radio?

6010 Views 8 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  GSO_Kyle
Does anybody else have trouble changing stations when they first start up their car?

I understand that it shouldn't work when we are in reverse, but there are times when it's a good 2 minutes before I can change stations. And usually when it's a bad song, of course.

I think that maybe my touchscreen is a bit sluggish. Anyone else have this issue?

As long as you have good reception (not in garage, tunnel, etc.) there should be no delay in radio. I have not had this problem and if it persists, take it to dealer. Good luck.
Thanks. I was worried that the dealer wouldn't think that this is such an important issue. But it's important to me.
The XM radio works great and without any delays in my Renegade and sounds very good (I have the 9-speaker system with the 5.0 radio).

Curiously, the XM radio sound is not good at all in my 2015 Dodge Challenger with the 8.4 touch screen. The FM and SD card music sound so much better than XM in this car.
Hi,

Did you ever resolve this issue? I've got a brand new Ram 1500 with uConnect 8.4 and at random times I get a ~2 minute delay to touchscreen commands related to Sirius XM. Any commands to change channels, etc. get queued up and then all get delivered at once when whatever the logjam was gets cleared. It's only a temporary clearance, though, as the problem keeps happening over and over as you drive. I can change to FM, AM, etc. and those work fine, but when I go back to Sirius XM it will still be hung up. I've called SXM and they verified that my software and subscriptions are current; they then suggested that the dealer perform a reset. I took it to the dealer and they reset everything but one day later the problem is back ...

Any updates would be appreciated!

Did you or the dealer check to see if you had the latest software update?

I have the same exact issue - any resolution?
I get the same with XM or Nav some times. I think it comes down to pinching pennies on cheap processors for the head unit. You would think in this day in age of fast computers and tablets that they would understand a sluggish infotainment system is really frustrating for consumers.
