It a 2L Diesel Longitude .

Young lad in shop said I'd need to reset something so it stopped me buying it.

Seen a couple of youtubes on how to do the nuts and bolts stuff so thought I'd try it myself.
Videos never mention anything about telling the computer you had a new battery.

Edit eg. "Halfords Start/Stop batteries will require the battery to be registered with the on-board computer system, so we strongly recommend professional fitting. "

No, There should be no issue swapping out a battery. Unless you've tried to jumpstart from another car, which can cause errors that need resetting.

I don't believe a battery for a vehicle with auto stop/start (does your Renegade have that?) is any different from any other automotive battery in principle -- except that it needs to have sufficient capacity to handle the demands of auto stop/start.

Get the top battery - usually AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) - even if you have to pay outside any warranty.
Dealer replaced battery twice, charged three times because Stop/Start only briefly worked with new battery/charge.
When the latest crapped out, spent the $300 for an AGM and problems were over.
Really makes one question the stewardship of FCA that would waste five service calls and three batteries when an adequate original could have been supplied with the new vehicle.
Will probably keep the car, dump the stock.

Well, as I've mentioned in other threads, the Auto Stop/Start was acting up on my new 2021 Traihawk within six months. The Auto Stop/Start wasn't engaging even during long trips.

At the one-year service, the dealer determined the OEM battery was the culprit; and replaced it (free under warranty) with a new DieHard AGM battery.

I imagine Jeep/FCA had to authorize them to do that...

It's been fine ever since.
