This came on when I started my trail hawk after work. I haven't used the 4x4 yet. Tried switching it between the modes at a stop light and wouldn't do anything.
Stop to pick up some stuff for work and after I restarted the vehicle it was gone and would shift into 4x4
Not sure if I should call dealership or not

How many miles are on it? I believe there is a break in strategy for the 4wd system. Our Limited was getting pretty awful gas mileage intermittently for some time and noticed that when it did, there was a slight groaning from the drivetrain as though the 4wd was engaged (same sound from a 2014 Cherokee with the 4wd engaged). I started using the sand mode (may as well be "bada$$ mode") because it is a blast to drive in this mode and noticed that the groaning as all but ceased in the "auto mode" and our fuel mileage has shot up to the expected 29-30 mpg on the highway.

We how have 3500 miles on and the mileage did not shoot up till around 3000 or so.

You have a 3 year warranty. Watch for the light and see if it comes on in a repeatable manor. If so, then take it to the dealer for sure. If it has only come on once and not again, the dealer can do almost nothing about it. The problem has to be repeatable to fix it. ;)

Let me be sure I understand, you drove in the sand mode for a while and then went back to auto and your gas mileage improved?
