I had to check what cables and adapters I actually have -- like I said, I haven't had a chance to use my AlfaOBD yet.
There are apparently at least a couple ways to do this. I was incorrect in Post #15 above -- I got my Security Gateway (SGW) bypass module from Z-Automotive:
It's obviously not a cable; it's supposed to plug into the two connectors on the SGW (behind the radio in current Renegades) every time I use AlfaOBD... Or, I think, it can stay plugged in there; but there would be a hacking vulnerability. And it would definitely upset the dealer when you brought the vehicle in for service (i.e., possible warranty issue)...
For AlfaOBD itself (from the laptop), I've got an OBDLink EX cable:
And for full AlfaOBD functionality, like to do major adaptations like you're doing, I understand a so-called "gray cable" is also needed, which is what I had to get from China through AliExpress:
The "gray cable" is connected in-line with the OBDLink EX cable. I believe that "gray cable" is included in the set you posted in Post #17.
The other way to do this, again as far as I understand, is to use a 12+8 cable like you have. I think the 12+8 cable plugs into the SGW, eliminating the need for a bypass module like I have; and the cable to the laptop then plugs into the 12+8 cable. Again, it needs to be removed after use.
