Hello everyone,


I have a 2015 Lat 4x4 and I noticed that if I manually lock the door with the power door lock while exiting the car the dome light stays on. This is when my dimmer switch is off I already checked!


The only time that it shuts off is when I use the key fob to lock it. The problem with that is if the key fob battery goes dead this could run your car battery dead as well.


Has anyone noticed this problem as well?

I have also have the North (Canadian version of the Lat). The dome line will stay on for a bit when I lock the door using the power lock, however it does turn off after a few seconds.


The only time it wouldn't turn off was when I played with the buttons adjacent to the headlight switch.

I check and rechecked my accent lights and it is still doing it. I haven't done the new Uconnect update yet do you think that might fix it?

Default setting is it stays on for 90 seconds. Play with the configs in the radio to adjust.

This happened to me once when I used the lock on the door. I wasn't quite used to having a fob yet coming from my ancient Jeep so I was just pressing lock from the door like I was used to doing. I only noticed it happening that one time though, but I will test it out.

I did some digging for a TSB that could be related to your concern, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find one. Have you brought this to the attention of your local dealership?

I plan on taking it today to have them look at the issue, hopefully they will be able to figure it out.

I have a Sport and the only time I've had an issue with my interior lights was after driving at night. I turned my knob on the dash (to the left of the steering wheel) to turn the headlights off and go to my auto-on daytime running lights. I turned it the two clicks over and went inside for the night. My wife came in a little while later telling me my interior lights were on. I went out and fiddled with the knob and that seemed to do the trick. I've noticed that the electrical in my Renny is super buggy.

Would you have had anything like this happen??

This stays on for hours

Odd. I know when I got mine it was staying on for way longer than I liked, so I changed out the settings to what I prefer. It's possible mine was staying on an extended period, I got the 90 second figure from the manual and never timed the real world performance which felt like eternity.

Well everything went good at the dealer they finally detailed the car like it should have been done when I bought it. The tech said he couldn't get it to do what I was saying.


When I got home I tried it and it did it. So I think the car has to be started shut off then hit the door lock switch on the door. I'll have to bring it back in. But it looks better than when I bought it!!!!:laugh:

I wish there where to side lights in the headliner instead of one big one in middle my caddy had it like that each person then gets there own light but they both went on when u opened the doors,

If you have My Sky the lights for the back passengers are separated into the grab handles on each side.

Well everything went good at the dealer they finally detailed the car like it should have been done when I bought it. The tech said he couldn't get it to do what I was saying.

I'm late in this discussion but what is the fix for this issue? I encountered the same problem on my 2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude.

On a road trip last summer I had an issue where the dome light stayed on. Period!
I had to remove the bulb for the rest of the trip.
Took it to the dealer and they installed a new light assembly.
This is in a 2015 Renegade Trailhawk.
I know not exactly the same, but wanted to share if it helps.

Bought my Latitude 2wd in Oct '15 and have the same issue as the original poster. First trip to the dealer they claimed they fixed it. Second trip to the dealer they were able to duplicate the problem but they said there wasn't a fix available. What do you have to do to ensure a problem is escalated to FCA?


The second trip in was also to get the key retention solenoid replaced as it would not release the key from the ignition.

EDIT: The lights that stay on are the ones I call map lights.

Were you able to duplicate the issue onsite for the dealer, just so they knew exactly what you were experiencing?
