I do not know if this is a feature or not.
Since we only have 1 key fob right now, we leave it in the kitchen.
I was going to vacuum out the jeep, and hit the Unlock button, got the vacuum and went outside. The Jeeps lights where on (as they should be) and as I was unwinding the vacuum cleaner cord the door locked by themselves while I was standing there.

So for testing purposes, I grabbed the remote and hit the unlock button, the doors unlocked, the lights came on for 30 seconds ( that's what I have it programed for).
I did not open the doors and waited another 30 seconds and the doors relocked themselves again. Now if you open the doors within the first minute they do not relock.

I tried to research this in the owners manual and found something about "Passive Locking System" but no details where explained or if you can disable this.

Hope someone might have an answer.

Sure. I do not have paper to quote but the system is designed to lock again in 30 seconds if you do not enter the car after hitting the fob unlock button. The car assumes you 'butt dialed' the fob unlock and keeps your car safe by relocking it.

Funny thing is its a 32 second walk for me from my house to my car. And its UNLOCK! for me if I dont time it right.
