Hello. New member, first post, but have owned a Renegade 4x4 2.4L Sport since 2017.

I purchased Eibach springs and I'm having some discrepancies with information available on them. I've definitely searched around already, which is what has lead me to this post to reach out to some folks who actually own these.

The product I purchased was stated on Amazon to be for the 4x4 version. Below are the product codes for what I received:
Set - e30-51-018-01-22
Rear - 31-51-018-01 RA
Front - 31-51-018-01 FA

Can anyone with the Eibach springs check theirs and confirm if this is what they have and whether or not an increase in clearance was gained if so?

The product code should be printed on the coils. It seems this is potentially for the 4x2 version. It is possible the e30-51-018-03-22 set is what is needed for 4x4 2.4L. The specs and comparisons seem conflicting and Eibach doesn't have the best of information available on their website it seems. Is there a true, substantial difference between the two sets?

Could this be how some folks get 1 inch or less (non trailhawk) while others get around 2 inches or more (of course some springs are more worn or the vehicle weight impacts this)?

I overland, so I'm fairly weighed down + would like the ground clearance, even if it's just a little. I currently run 225 70 16 toyo open country a/t 3 and will install 1 inch spacers when I install the Eibachs if I don't send them back.

I genuinely appreciate any experiences, information, and all comments are welcome.

Thank you.

Hi There,

Sorry for the slow response. The kit number you listed is correct for the pro lift kit. Installed on my 2020 Latitude 4x4 it gave right about the lift they claim. Or 1.7 inch on the front and a little over an inch in the rear. The difference comes from the fact that the kit will level the Renegade, front to rear, as well. On my wife's 2021 Trailhawk, the lift was right at an inch front and rear. The stock springs are slightly stiffer, and the Trailhawk comes level, front to rear, from the factory.

Also, in regards to the tires, we did have rubbing issues with the Trailhawk when we went to a 225 width tire and one inch spacers. Like you, our tires are Toyo Open Country III, in a 225/65R17 size however. The right front rubbed enough that we were going to need to modify the wheel well to keep them. We removed the spacers instead and all is fine. Strangely, the left front barely touched, even at full crank. I kept 215 width Toyos on my Latitude, and have had no problems with the same spacers. Even in extreme off road conditions.

For what it is worth, the Eibachs have excellent compression resistance under weight, and have greatly improved my Latitude's ride, both off and on road.

Hope this helps, Jinx

Hey Jinx, not to hijack the tread but your the 3rd person I’ve heard mention in casual conversation that the TH springs are stiffer than the Eibachs? Like you I was thinking of replacing the stocks since hers carries a bit of weight in full camping kit, but I’ve started rethinking it. Also going with 225/65/17 rubber.

In your opinion was the spring upgrade really worth it or would you wait and just use them after the stocks wear out?

Thanks!

This definitely helps! Do not apologize! You're good. I'm just happy someone had some great insight for me.
For redundancy sake, to confirm, your front product codes are 31-51-018-01 FA on a 2.4 L engine? (Not really familiar with what each trim has / year, my apologies).

I appreciate your thorough and thoughtful response. Thats awesome both you and your spouse have renegades!

I plan to do the pinch seam mod when I do the coil springs, so thankfully that shouldn't cause any rubbing with the 225 70 16s. I couldn't be happier with the toyos! I've beat the 'tar' out of them in sharp rocks and have not had a puncture yet (knock on wood, lol). I would like a little more clearance and need the spacers so I can more easilly remove the sway bar link before I hit a trail. I also have NO room for any form of chain if I needed them.

I strongly dislike the sport version bumper/plastic 'skid plate?' too because it really kills the approach angle and hits a lot when in the sand dunes, lol. Not sure how I can cut/trim it appropriately. It also sucks for snow wheeling aka plowing with this bumper hahaha.

On the Trailhawk, I'd probably wait until I needed springs, if I had it to do again. The lift is modest at best, and there isn't that much difference in the spring rate, at least from the way the ride feels both on and off road. I guess I expected more after the significant improvement the Eibachs made on my Latitude. Oh well, live and learn.

Hi again,

I just hand checked the spring number on my Latitude, and that is a match. Same engine as well, 2.4 Tigershark.

And yes, the pinch seam mod will do the trick for the rubbing. My wife just gave me a strong NO when I suggested doing that to her Trailhawk. Funny thing is, banging it around on the trails is fine with her. Both of us also give two big "Thumbs up" on the Toyos. We've had these two Renegades in places they really didn't belong, and the tires clawed their way out.

I would kill for a different front bumper as well on the Latitude, just for an improved approach angle. So far the lower piece has held up to whatever I've thrown at it. It's scratched to heck but not broken. Underneath I run a full set of the Valkyrie Skid plates and they have earned their keep. I can testify the front engine one will stand up to a full weight slid on rock, and that's all I could ask.

Thank you! This makes me feel much more confident with installation. Going to pinch seam, Eibach, and 1 inch spacer this month.

Haha that cracked me up in regards to the solid NO on the trailhawk, yet beats it on the trail. I love it lol.

I need to look into skid plates. I'll check out Valkyrie, thank you for the mentioning of it. Its my biggest paranoia, thrashing my underside and breaking down on trail.

Wish they had made better aftermarket struts in USA. I hear there is an awesome one being sold in Italy, I believe, but no way to get it here ATM. Provides a 1 or 2 inch strut lift, I forget. The b 5100 apparently have weak weld points, per other forum discussions. I am also avoiding spacer lifts, hence the spring lift being appealing to me. I don't see myself ever using larger than a 28.5 - 30 inch tire on this thing, due to the crawl ratio being so low.
