Hi all,

Picked up my 2020 Renegade yesterday, 1.3 petrol Nighteagle. Pleasantly pleasing drive, but got 2 questions.

1 electric folding mirrors, when I lock the car they stay in the open position. I've read the driver handbook and it says to press button C on the control panel but that doesn't close them.

2 the beeping sound when you lock and unlock with the remote, any way to disable the sound? Looked in the manual but nothing mentioned.

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

I can't help with the mirrors as our 2015 doesn't have that feature. However the locking beeps is definitely an option on our dash screen. "Vehicle Setup" I believe. I think it might be something you have to do whilst stationary rather than on the go.

For some stupid reason there is no mirror-fold on lock feature on the Renegade. (Compass has it.)
Only manual folding, if it has that option.

Alarm arm beep is only disabled if you get someone to switch region to a silent one, like the Netherlands, via OBD reprogramming.
You cannot do this from any car settings directly.

Thanks for replying, just been out and tried that but nothing in Vehicle Setup or any other menu, unless I've missed it somewhere.

The folding mirror is mentioned in the handbook but I can't get it to work, maybe it's a generic handbook eh.

Man that alarm is annoying, very 1990s having it beep every time. Thanks anyway.

My other car, a 2009 smart cabriolet, has silent lock and unlock and they actually brag about "reducing noise pollution" as the reason. I like it but it has a drawback. You have to be looking at the vehicle to make sure it locked (added bonus; if you lock it and your lights flash 4 times it means your fob battery is getting low. Um... Jeep ??? Oh yeah, we got an Italian spider saying hello on our gas tank instead.) With my Latitude, I was parked in a 6 story parking garage, made it to the street, crossed over and said to my buddy, "Did I lock my doors ?" "No idea.". I took out my fob, hit the lock button and I heard a beep. He said, "No way it read this far away, you're on the opposite end of the garage, that was someone else.". I hit the button again, beep. Yeah, it read that far away. Saved me a trip across the street and an elevator ride.

At home, I leave my Jeep outside in my driveway. Before I shut down for the night, I hit the remote and listen for the beep, just to be sure as I sometimes forget to lock it up, keyless start and stop is a blessing and a curse. When I had an actual key in my hand, I never forgot to lock up. Now, not so much.

If you're forgetful, that annoying beep is a blessing.
